I want to be one of the spinsters of Kempton! Witty, opinionated and outspoken, these women are delightfully spunky characters, who are well developed and very smartly written. I loved every minute of their interactions. I have to say that my favorite character was Mr. Muggins the dog!! I hope to see him and his feather-chasing addiction again! He made me laugh so hard! The romance is also sweet and refreshing, there is an immediate spark between Tabitha and Christopher, the Duke of Preston, and I love the moment she first sets eyes on him! I loved this book the characters are funny and intelligent. Tabitha is a bit of a Cinderella, an orphaned spinster who’s remaining relations are horrible and don’t really want her, so they treat her like an unpaid servant. Christopher begins as bit shallow and a total scapegrace, and yet he’s a completely loveable character who learns to dig a bit deeper within himself; when he realizes that Tabitha is what he never knew he always needed, he becomes completely selfless in his devotion to her. But of course, her horrid family doesn’t approve of him or his reputation and works to tear them apart. This is a thoroughly enjoyable romance and I highly recommend it!!

I loved this book and will definitely buy the next one (#2). The characters were all well developed and came to life on the pages. A great book.

This book was amazing!!!!! Once I started I avoided putting it down at all costs. The banter between the characters was hilarious and I found myself laughing out loud on multiple occasions and grinning constantly. The beginning of the story has a cinderella like feel to it, but the author quickly turns it around to be far more interesting than any true cinderella story. I found myself routing for Tabby and Preston the whole way through and I can't wait to read the other books in the series. It's nice knowing so much about her future characters because I have already fallen in love with them and can't wait to see how their stories play out.

I have read several books that "left me hungry" at the end but this one was really good. I enjoyed it from begining to end and the Characters were so great--Tabitha was really more of a Tabby then anyone knew and Christopher Duke of Preston was a great hero with all that you'd want.
The story builds and family relations are so defined and the people are so detailed that "you know them"!
This was a very enjoyable book!

Very enjoyable historic romance. The story flowed well, had humor, with just the right amount of drama and endearing romance to keep it interesting. Can't wait for the next story to be told!

Cute read, with truly humorous moments, just uneven writing.
Not the best I've ever read, but nowhere near the worst. Definitely worth your time.

Tabitha Timmons is without a doubt the dullest heroine ever. I cannot imagine the most boring country vicar being mildly interested---no less a rake of a Duke. It didn't help that the plot was boring and repetitive. First and last EB book.

Enjoyable book. I too liked Tabitha's dog as he was good for a laugh.
Some of the friends of the main characters were at times annoying even
though they thought they were helping. Enjoyed the ending.

If you like romance novels, then this is perfect! To be honest, there’s only one sex scene. This story isn’t about heaving bosoms and ripped corsets. It’s about a woman discovering herself and a man opening up to life and love. Boyle’s dialogue is witty and hilarious. This is a book that you can devour in a day. The Rhymes with Love trilogy is about the women of Kempton and is sure to cause quite the scandal in the genre.

Tabitha Timmons has been forced to life her life under the very firm hand of her aunt and uncle who see her as a free ride not a loving niece. Tabitha longs for freedom from her country life and dreams of what wonderful things exist outside the confines of this restricted life.
Christopher Seldon, The Duke of Preston has no checks nor balances for his life and grabs every day with enthusiasm. Tabitha could not be any further from what he thinks he wants or needs but she is turning out to everything and more than he could have imagined.
The only glitch in the plan is that everyone has other arrangements for Tabitha. There is money flowing down to her that seems to have be diverted to a man she doesn’t like, a family she does not want to be part of, and society that does nothing but demean her.
The magic of the kiss, the romance of the moment, and the twist of every turn is what Elizabeth Boyle excels at with each book she writes.

The heroine is a bright, witty and lovable spinster turned heiress. The chance meeting with a duke and case of mistaken identity at the beginning of the book sets readers up for an entertaining read. Humorous, inventive and an eclectic cast of characters that leave the reader with anticipation for the next book. Elizabeth Boyle doesn't disappoint!
