Overview

RITA finalist and USA Today bestselling author Ruthie Knox’s Camelot series heats up in this sizzling eBook original novel, featuring two headstrong souls who bump heads—and bodies—as temptation and lust bring nothing but delicious trouble.

An accomplished lawyer and driven single mother, Ellen Callahan isn’t looking for any help. She’s doing just fine on her own. So Ellen’s more than a little peeved when her brother, an international pop star, hires a security guard to protect her from a prying press that will stop at nothing to dig up dirt on him. But when the tanned and toned Caleb Clark shows up at her door, Ellen might just have to plead the fifth.

Back home after a deployment in Iraq and looking for work as a civilian, Caleb signs on as Ellen’s bodyguard. After combat in the hot desert sun, this job should be a breeze. But guarding the willful beauty is harder than he imagined—and Caleb can’t resist the temptation to mix business with pleasure. With their desires growing more undeniable by the day, Ellen and Caleb give in to an evening of steamy passion. But will they ever be able to share more than just a one-night stand?

Praise for Along Came Trouble

“One of the reasons I so like [Ruthie Knox’s] work is because [her] heroines are women I personally can relate to. . . . I’ve read Along Came Trouble twice and though I liked it on the first pass, I really liked it on the second. It’s a smart, challenging, sexy, well-written book.”—Dear Author

“Knox writes incredible romance, and this one is no exception. Readers will be mesmerized by the complex relationships woven into her tale. A fascinating hero who defines the word sexy, a heroine who is extremely likable and pitch-perfect dialogue all make this entry in the Camelot series an absolute must-read.”—RT Book Reviews

“Contemporary romance readers will not want to miss the romantic, heart-felt emotion along with all the sexy, steamy goodness Ruthie Knox creates within the pages of About Last Night.”—Fiction Vixen

“A great new voice in contemporary romance . . . hilarious, heartfelt, and hot.”—New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristan Higgins

“I’ll read anything by Ruthie Knox—her books are always sexy, funny, beautifully poignant, and honest.”—Molly O’Keefe, bestselling author of Crazy Thing Called Love

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as excerpts from these Loveswept titles: How to Misbehave, Flirting with Disaster, and About Last Night.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Jamie Callahan is a singing sensation à la Justin Timberlake. His sister, Ellen, lives in Camelot, along with his nephew. Jamie fell in love with Ellen's next-door neighbor Carly and then broke up with her. Paparazzi madness ensued. Caleb Clark, the bodyguard Jamie sends to protect Ellen, turns out to be more of a threat to the boundary issues left over from her ex-husband than any of the photographers staking out her lawn. Then her brother comes back to town to reromance Carly, and Caleb is suddenly the best ally Ellen ever had. VERDICT A terrific read for anyone with a soft spot for bodyguard romances and a delightful example of the kind of contemporary romance that Knox has made her own. Highly recommended. [Xpress Reviews, 1/11/13.]—Marlene Harris, Seattle P.L.

Meet the Author

Ruthie Knox graduated from Grinnell College as an English and history double major and went on to earn a Ph.D. in modern British history that she’s put to remarkably little use. She debuted as a romance novelist with Ride with Me—perhaps the only existing cross-country bicycling love story—and followed it up with About Last Night, which features a sizzling British banker hero with the unlikely name of Neville. She moonlights as a mother, tweets incessantly, and bakes a mean focaccia.

More bragging plot spoilers going about their free book from the publisher for their * honest* review. That makes me sick. Does the publisher know you reveal the entire book for future readers? If i were the publisher i would sue you. You need to learn to write a review. Read the others here. They are concise and to the point. If you want to reveal every detail, take it to a blog site with other plot spoilers, but stop doing it here.

I enjoyed Ellen and Caleb and thought they had great chemistry. I did think Ellen fought off accepting help a little too hard and was happy when she finally accepted Caleb.

So, no spoilers. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

    Enjoyable

Light romance, believable though flawed and troubled characters, preposterous plot, some snappy dialogue. Way too much unnecessary-to-the-plot explicit sex.

Didn't care for Ellen or Carly's characters

Didn't care for Ellen or Carly's characters much. A lot of silly resistance to nice guys. It went on and on until they realized they were being unreasonable but in the process it just got boring in my opinion. Maybe if there was only one character playing the game instead of two?

    Very Good!

Can't give this one 5 stars because I found it easy to put it down and go back to... It was interesting and I already have the next in the series pre-ordered... Somehow this author just seems to drag out a good story a bit too much for me... I much prefer a book that I can't bear to set aside even for a minute... Good story, good characters, but I just can't go the extra star... Sorry...
