Overview

Abby's life is just beginning. It is the time of her college graduation, and she has become an accomplished chef and a lovely young woman.

Little does she know, she is about to face a whole new phase of her life—and an entirely different “becoming”.

When tragedy strikes, Abby is driven to return to her hometown of Salem, Massachusetts, despite her avoiding the area due to a childhood accident that has left her scarred. Rising up from the tragedy, Abby finds herself faced with compelling reasons to settle down permanently in Salem. As if this decision weren't overwhelming enough, Abby finds herself having memory lapses, fighting off the strange mayor of the town, and continuing a confusing romance with Jake, a love she had left behind when she went off to college.

As the pieces begin to come together, things only become more confusing and challenging for Abby. She discovers a supernatural side of herself she didn't even believe in, and she must learn to adapt quickly when a great evil threatens Salem. Can Abby harness her newly-found abilities while navigating the extreme tides of change and mysterious forces that are overrunning her life?

Meet the Author

Larissa Ladd is a dreamer with insights fresh as the frost newly formed on the twig whose snap echoes through the moonlit forest.

Since as a child she discovered the storybook world of ghouls and goblins, she's been a devotee of the eerie, the supernatural, and all that raises the hairs on the back of the neck. Her spine still shivers with delight when she huddles fearfully in a darkling corner, enthralled in suspenseful tales from her favorite authors Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and John Saul.

Feast your eyes on the scintillating flashes of garish color dabbed forth from her pen.

Could not hold my insterest. I could second guess what was going to happen, throughout the book. The ineresting part was the journal, but after that it was a standard noval. Great for young teens.

Abigal "Abby" Bishop knows nothing of her magical heritage until her Aunt Cat's and Uncle Jim's deaths. Abby has always been drawn to Salem even as a child. Abby has recurring nightmare about big black dog attacking her as teenager. Abby returns to home to Salem not only for the funeral but to open up her own bakery. Jake Copper has always been a friend to Abby and would love a chance to reconnect with her. Mayor Cormin leaves Abby feeling unsettled and full of suspicion regarding his motives. Will Abby learn about her magical heritage? Can Abby trust Jake? What does Mayor Cormin want? Your answers await you in Alpha Hybrid:The Becoming. This book was startling surprise from first to last page. The characters are complex and rich. The book is filled with rich history that still makes it relevant to current happenings in the story. I will definitely continue reading more of this author's work in the future.
