I wanted a nice and easy book to help me teach my students. I tried the dummies / idiots series. No good! This one is simply a class above everything else out there! This book is good for adults and children. I love it!

This is a very affective book to train a person how to play chess. I actually was able to teach a group of kids in school using this book as a guide. It worked out great. The children were able to learn it even faster than what the title said. Anyway, I think it is absolutely the best book out there for a beginner. It is easy to follow and comprehend. I strongly recommend it.

The layout is very nice. The information is current. The explanation is very clear. A very professional job by two tremendous authors (legendary World Champion Susan Polgar & Truong). I also thoroughly enjoy their work in Chess Life and ChessCafe.com. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to properly learn the game. 2 thumbs up!

I have bought many books written by World Champion Zsuzsa Polgar, the greatest Women's World Champion ever. I think she and FM Truong make a wonderful partnership in book writing. They are wonderful instructors and they make everything outstandingly clear. This book offers so much and it is nicely done. It looks like Alpha has a winner here.

This book is nicely written by 2 well known chess champions. The authors are also the top chess columnists for the United States Chess Federation. The layout and format is excellent. They made it so simple to follow. Anyone can play chess after reading this book. I rank this as the best beginner's chess book on the market.
