    A Bounty of Bible Basics

Whalin¿s book will help new Christians intimidated by the Bible or older believers who¿ve never studied it seriously. His discussions of Bible basics, key Bible stories and doctrine will provide a helpful overview for deeper Bible study later. A few books were left out of the brief overviews--I noticed Ruth, Galatians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, Titus and Jude missing--but Alpha Teach Yourself keeps on track with its commitment to provide a crash course in 24 one-hour study sessions. For people who think the Bible is too complicated to study and understand, this book will be enlightening and encouraging.

An easy-to-follow narrative summarizing the Bible.

I was very pleased to discover Mr. Whalin's new book. I now have a reader-friendly companion to my daily Bible reading. By paraphrasing and summarizing; and with the inclusion of historical and archeologicial tidbits, the author has made the books of the Bible understandable and interesting. The stories within are NOT just long lists of names and mysterious prophecies--they present history in a manner that keeps me turning pages. Highly recommended as a study aide or reading as literature.
