Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal

PreS-Gr 2- Captioned with a Boynton-esque rhyme-"Striped I guanas climb,/Spotted J aguars pounce,/Playful baby K angaroos-/bounce, bounce, bounce!"-this A-to-Z menagerie of frisky, dot-eyed cartoon animals sports an array of special features, including moving parts, flaps, holes, foldouts, and a large pop-up alphabet poster in a rear pocket. Many of the animals also come with textured surfaces, from areas of shiny foil on the Parrotfish and sticky tentacles on the Octopus to a mop of fluff atop the Yak's head. As the poster is designed to be removed, and some of the push-tab action is powered by rubber bands, this won't have a long shelf life-but it's supercharged with child appeal and offers an irresistible invitation to touch, rub, lift, and pore over every crowded, colorful spread.-John Peters, New York Public Library

    Great value and great creativity

My nephew loved this book and it comes with some supplemental visuals for teaching the alphabet!

    Very Cute

The pull out poster is a nice addition. I don't think my 1 year old son likes it as much as "Tails" but the illustrations are cute and it is a nice addition to our library. Took less than a day for the poor little birdies to loose their heads, but in my house that isn't surprising.

    Love this book!

I have bought my toddler three of this author's books and can't wait to get them all. High quality with exciting colors, you can't wait to see what's on the next page. My toddler loves to feel the skin and tails of the animals.

    WOW!!!

What a BEAUTIFUL book! I've been reading to my son every night since he was born and for the past month this is the ONLY book he wants to read. He loves it! He's learning so much so quickly, it seems like there are new things too look at and learn each time we open this book. BEAUTIFUL! I will be purchasing more from this author.

    Highly recommended!

I gave this to my 1 year old goddaughter because she loves books that she can touch and feel. This book has colorful characters, lots to touch and interact with, and it helps children learn their ABCS while learning the names of different animals. Perfect for little ones! (Just make sure they dont eat the pages).

    A fully interactive book!

My son loves this book. He is only 18 months old, but eagerly brings it to me to read to him over and over again. He loves the sticky octopus page, and enjoys lifting the flaps, pulling the tabs, and feeling all the different textures for each animal. This book even has a scratch and sniff stinkbug! It is colorful and inviting, and even I haven't gotten bored with it yet. Matthew Van Fleet is a children's book genius! In fact, the reason I'm online right now is to buy another one of his books!

One Of My Children's New Favorites

Alphabet is a great book to introduce your children to letters, words, picture recognition, and textures. The illustrations are wonderful and make learning fun. The use of animals is universally welcomed by young minds and help to reinforce the concepts taught in this alphabet book. I thoroughly recommend it.
