I love the layout of the book. Each letter appears on its own page and the accompanying page shows the picture affiliated with the letter. For the most part, the words are easy for small children to understand. I didn't like the word "jester" for the letter j. I could think of better words. Overall, though, the book is great. I also love that it's a board book because my daughter rips paperback books too easily. I'm not a big fan of all of the illustrations or the flapping pages (my daughter ignores them), but I was eager to find a book that is simple and yet educational.
a charming original rendition of the alphabet. The word examples are mostly common ones but as the book proceeds they occur together in a room in unusual combinations. And each page opens up so the kids get to participate, always a favorite thing to do.
This is a very clever book with beautiful illustrations--it has been a favorite in our home for several years.
This book is an absolute favorite among MANY other books! It is great fun to search each page for different items (they move around w/ each added letter). I don't know if this will be a favorite for everyone - sometimes things just click and you can never tell what will be a hit. But I thought I'd share in the hopes that someone else will enjoy this book as much as we have.
I have searched high and low for a book like this. Each page is dedicated to one huge letter of the alphabet with an adjoining page having a picture to complement that letter. My daughter is 1.5 yrs. old and she carries this book everywhere. No cluttered pictures or sentences to distract the child from learning the alphabet. She can now recite her abc's from this book. I have bought many books, this one by far is the best for teaching and learning. Wish I could find a number book just like it!
