Dark. Daunting. Unforgettable. Survival adds a demanding edge to love in the wilds.

Tina made a pact with the devil seven years ago. It’s time to pay the piper—or die.

Independent to the nth degree, Tina meets everything in her life head-on—except love. When an almost-forgotten pact with the devil returns to haunt her, Tina throws a trip to the Andes together to face her nemesis. Better to die on her feet than wait for him to make good on his threats.

Craig never understood why Tina walked out of his life years before. He’s never loved anyone like he loved her. His mountain guide service takes up all his time, but he’s never forgotten her. When his back’s been up against the wall, he’s invited her to fill in as expedition doctor, but beyond that, he’s kept his distance. Having his heart stomped on once was quite enough.

Caught between misgivings and need, Tina signs on as team doctor for one of Craig’s climbing trips to the Andes. Though he was the love of her life, she pushed him away years before to keep him safe. Even if he doesn’t love her anymore, there’s still no one she’d rather have by her side in the mountains. And if she’s going to die, she wants to make things right between them.

Alpine Attraction is a fast paced paranormal romance written by the very talented Ann Gimpel. This story takes the classic “making a deal with the devil” to whole new level, with twists and turns that will have you hungrily flipping pages to see what happens next. Tina just wants to protect those that she loves, especially Craig. When Tina’s time runs out she must return to Illimani once again and fulfill her end of the bargain. If she would have known what her deal with her “savior” would cost her, she would have rather died on Illimani seven years ago. Now she and Craig are caught up in a world full of things they never knew existed. Will Tina and Craig have a second chance at love or will they lose each other for ever? I highly recommend this novel to paranormal romance lovers everywhere! It is full of action, suspense and romance. Ann really makes you feel like you are there climbing the mountain, feeling the cold wind, the bite of the rock as you grip it, and the stillness that surrounds you when you are up that high. Alpine Attraction will take you on an adventure that you will never forget! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Well the mountain climbing background in this second book of the series, Alpine Attraction, was something knew for me. The alpha in this story is Tina and seven years earlier while climbing solo in the Andes she was on the brink of losing her life when unexpected help came. But in order to be saved she had to swear to come back in seven years. The experience changed her life; even leaving a good man, Craig, who loved her. We go forward and she is horrifically reminded that the seven years is almost up. This time she knows better than to go alone, and learns that Craig is taking an expedition up the same mountain and signs on as his medic. This story puts you right there with her as she once again is climbing the mountain. We feel her strength and independence mixed in with fear of the unknown. I recommend this story to anyone interested in native legends, magic, courage, and love. When you finish you'll either want to find a mountain to climb or get as far away from them as you can.

Book 2 alpine attraction Tina awakes from a real life nightmare one she was hoping would never be true. One she had spent 7 years trying to tell herself that it didn’t happen it was all altitude hupoxia and if she moved far enough away away IT wouldn't find her or be real. It had almost worked unto last night. As much as she hated it she had to go to the one place she never wanted to see again! The andes 4 weeks later she was in the and es with the one man she loved and knew she couldn't have. In a short time she would be in ITs cliches so it was her last chance to spend time with him. Only everything about this trip is messed up and out side forces. Can she tell Craig what happened, would he even believe her? Or will this just be putting him in more danger? Once Craig knows he will stop at nothing to protect Tina even if he has to go up against a god to do it. Voluntarily reviewed and I honestly loved it.

SURVIVAL AND LOVE IN THE MOUNTAINS. 3.5 stars. Alpine Attraction is the second book in the Alphas in the Wild series. It is a standalone with an HEA and no cliffhanger. There is violence and hot and steamy sex so definitely 18+. By the vivid descriptions, you can tell the author loves being outdoors and climbing in the mountains. I enjoyed reading this book and I think you will too. Years ago, while on a risky solo climb in the Andes Mountains, Tina makes a pact with a supernatural creature to survive. The deadline to hold up her end of the bargain is coming up and she wants to make it on her own terms. So she teams up with Craig on his next climbing expedition in the Andes. Can she and Craig find a way for her to get out of dying on the mountain?
