I read a lot of mystery series and it is often hard to keep up the personalities of the characters, the ongoing themes and come up with new themes. A person once said they would be afraid to hang out with someone who is always finding murders in their backyard, so to speak. But Mary Daheim keeps up with all of the above and I enjoy reading each one of her books. The Alpine Icon had a few twists that made you go back and forth about your idea of "whodunit," and was fun to find out which time you were right.

i enjoy the series but she needs a really strong man who compliments her character. The men who have been put in a love interest are just so so. The one who was interesting finally dies so that was a blow.
