Overview

She’s loved him all her life.

Lady Elise Halden knows how to get a horse to bend to her will with a gentle touch and subtle coaxing. But she’s learning that bringing the new Earl of Camden to heel is nothing like training a horse. If she has any hope of reining in the Earl’s affections, she will need a plan. With help from her friend Lady Beverly, and her sister-in-law the Duchess, Elise sets out to win her indifferent Earl’s heart.

He’s admired her from a respectable distance.

As young men, Michael Brightman and his best friend swore sisters were off limits. This promise was made solely to protect his own sisters from his friend’s charming, rakehell ways. The Duke of Caversham’s little sister was always a precocious minx to avoid, till one day Michael realizes Lady Elise is all grown up and the things he wants to do with the lady are surely going to upset the friendship with her brother.

Together they discover that physical evidence doesn’t equate truth, and trusting the heart is sometimes the hardest lesson to learn.

Already His is set in 1822. Locations include London and the English countryside.

Meet the Author

Sandy Raven has a husband who spoils her rotten, and kids that are just a hair’s breadth away from perfect. She’s addicted to House Hunter’s International and has never missed an episode, though she acknowledges that she could never live in most of those countries because the houses are just too small. She is also addicted to Starbucks’ Chai Latte, and never passes up an opportunity to have one. Sandy grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast with sand between her toes and perpetually frizzy hair. Which is why she now lives in the middle-of-nowhere Virginia, in a place with minimal to moderate humidity (for perfect, non-frizzy curls,) rolling hills and farmed forests. The only downside to that is the temperamental satellite internet and the closest Starbucks being a thirty minute drive away. Home is a renovated old farm house she shares with her hero husband, in the foothills of Blue Ridge Mountains, where she’s owned by more cats, dogs and horses than she cares to admit to. She’s a long-time member of RWA, and is a member of VRW and the Beau Monde. Second to writing is her love for her horses. She practices natural horsemanship, and loves to ride her barefoot Tennessee Walkers on the trails and in the woods around her home. Already His
By: Sandy Raven The Caversham Chronicles Book 2

Is age really nothing but a number? Can Elise's childhood love become a budding romance with her brothers best friend? Michael made Ren promise years ago that their sisters were off limits to one another. At the time that wasn't a problem. Until Ren's younger sister made her debut. Michael could see she was no longer the little brat who once tormented him with her crush on him. She was now a beautiful woman ready for marriage and he was a man in desperate need of a wife to have his heirs. Could Elise be the one and how could he break a promise he forced his best friend to make years ago?

I fell in love with the first book Caversham's Bride and I am happy to say I was not disappointed by the second novel Already His. It is a very unique series, that I see continuing to become more enchanting with each book. I normally don't like books that change the main characters with each book. Most of the time this doesn't work. For the Caversham Chronicles it has only enhanced the visuals Sandy so easily portrays and makes you feel as though you are living within the family as it all plays out. I can't wait to see where Sandy Raven takes us from here with her third book in the series Loving Sarah.

    Excellent read!

Historical romance is a relatively new genre for me and admittedly I have read only 36 books of this genre. That said, I think this was my favorite. The plot...though obviously a happily ever after...was unique, well developed, and believable...as much as any could be. The characters were endearing. Although I respect the opinions of other readers, it is a fact that a woman could not have the typical experience because of certain non sexual activities such as horseback riding and I thought it was a clever, plausible conflict for the characters to have to overcome. I would highly recommend.

    Insight

This book does give one an insight into the cultural norms of the time.
    SPOILER ALERT!
It is quite possible to loose the barrier if a woman has an active lifestyle but he blames her and thinks she has had multiple partners.THAT was announcing!
The fact that she goes back to him makes it the opposite of ' a happy ever after' ending.
It's not worth even the pennies I paid for it.

    positively wonderful

I do not understand why anyone would give this story less than 5 star rating: one person who wrote a review with questions about the heroine not having a hymen: it is very possible to be injured an lose the hymen and i suspect the loss of the heroines was riding of the horses when she was so young and for such a long time:: please read this story you will be so glad, you will laugh and cry
There is approx 325 pages great great read

    I am so confused.

Apparently Lady Elise is a virgin... however there is no barrier for Michael to break through nor any virgins blood when they finally become intimate. Elise's lack of maidenhead but claims of virtue is just confusing. Michael had every right to be upset.

    Good read,enjoyed this book.

Inbelishe alot is the only problem I had with this story. Should have been more sex. The one thing I hated about these characters was ( Elise and Michael) talking while having sex. Im like who does that. The details in this story was also too much. I feel the Author wasted to much time on the details of the house's and what the ladies was wearing, then the actual main characters. In the end the story was rushed with the happy ending. I read the first book to this series with Elise brother. Now thay story was Great and on point. Four stars for 2nd book

I enjoyed this eBook so much. I had not read Book 1 so this was a first for me. The characters were wonderful, you could see Elise in all her glory as she grew up loving only one man.
Her antic's to get his attention were very well written and thought out.

You will fall in love with everyone of the main characters in this awesome series. Well the villain got what he richly deserved. :)Read, laugh and enjoy

    Three stars

Enjoyed the series andcharacters. That whole bit about Elise's virtue being in question kinda left readers in the dark tho...not sure what really happened there.

    Potential to be better

This was a really interesting book. It eluded to some very dark possible plots in the beginning, but didn't deliver on them. It had a lot of build-up to some serious action, and then nothing. Like in her other books that I've read, i found the actual story very boring, but i still enjoyed it and read it through. The characters are funny-especially the grandma-and interesting. I just like a little more excitement in my books. None the less, it was still well-written and well-developed.

Loved book 1 liked book 2

Sandy Raven is a great writter. I enjoyed Michael and Elise's story. The characters and story line were ok. Elise isn't your typical English maiden. She rides and trains horses, loves to climb and fish. She speaks her mind and falls for her older brothers friend.
