Johnson, M.D. , an instructor in plastic surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, retired after more than twenty years in private practice to pursue his longtime interest in alternate-day calorie restriction. He has published numerous articles in scientific and medical journals, including Medical Hypotheses and Free Radical Biology & Medicine. His work has been featured in the popular press, including The Independent (London) and Woman's World. His website is AlternateDayDiet.com.

DONALD R. LAUB SR., M.D., is the former chief of plastic surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine.

    The Best Diet Ever! I've lost 7 Lbs so far

    I found this diet online, and in only 12 days that I've been following the plan, I've lost 7 Lbs. It's so easy to follow. I am so motivated and I hardly ever finish all my calories on the Up Day. I journal everything I eat, and I plan ahead to make sure I do not exceed my calorie intake on the down days. I usually eat the 20% weight loss mode calories on the down day, but a couple of times I went over to the 35% weight loss mode calories and I still lost weight. I've notice that the more I eat on my up day 'without exceeding my daily calorie amount' the more I loose. I strongly recommend it.

    What a great diet!!

    This is the first diet that actually fits my lifestyle! I love being able to eat the food that I like and only have to diet on alternating days. It's so easy to plan outings around this diet and not feel like you blew all your efforts for the week. Try it you'll love it!
