Simple and pretty easy to use.

For the most part, the book uses ingredients that you can find pretty much anywhere in the world you go. We're talking beans, rice, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, that sort of thing. He likes to include stories with a lot of the recipes, so that you can read it out of the kitchen too! All in all a fun and useful book for me.

    Three Words: MAC AND CHEESE!!!

I have been Vegan for a year and one month. I know my way around the kitchen.

A friend who is excited about going Vegan asked me "So what book should I read?"

He was looking for a book that would tell him what to start doing in the kitchen now that he's no longer making his old favorites with eggs and dairy and animal flesh.

With the holidays approaching, he wants to cook a meal for his family that will satisfy and nourish them without leaving them feeling short-changed.

That's when it occurred to me -- for someone making the switch to Veganism, Dino Sarma's "Alternative Vegan" is the PERFECT place to start.

When I told my friend that he can still make delicious comfort foods like Mac & Cheese, he was sold.

You can view Sarma's recipe for Mac & Cheese on his blog (of the same title). Just visit altveg (dot) blogspot (dot com) and search for "Mac & Cheese" (posted on July 16, 2010)

    ENJOY!!!
