I first read this book when I was 8, when I won it in a reading contest. Nearly ten years later, it is still one of my favorite books. I love it and reread it so much I nearly want to buy another copy of it because it's so battered.  Melissa's story and the way it's written is so amazing, and beautiful and sad. There is so much everything in this book. I was the kid who got in trouble for reading in class because I did not want to stop reading. I still do that, actually. I also cry over this book, it is dam impossible not to. But it's cause for concern when an eight year old starts crying over a book, which is what I did forever ago. This book and Lurlene McDaniel in general, is amazing. It is such a must read, it's one of the best books I've ever read.

Every step of this book you are on the edge of your seat until you get to the last page. I can't count how many times I've read this book, but every time I still cry any enjoy it! I hope you do too! :)

I just finished this and it was amazing. I couldn't put it down. Sweet, funny and so heartbreaking I was crying by the end and smiling through the tears. For anyone who's ever lost someone, known someone who did or just likes moving and heartfelt stories, this book is for you.

Time as it stands

In Always and Forever there is an amazing girl, Melissa, who lives with the ups and the downs of life. I think the author did amazing and I was touched many times throughout the book. It¿s very emotional and deep. It touched me in many ways. Even since I didn¿t relate to her situation I still thought it was outstanding in all of its ways. I would recommend this book to anyone. The author put an amazing outlook on life through her words; she has many points through the book.
Although Melissa has leukemia she looks at life differently than anyone else. She knows she¿s not going to make it. In parts of the story it becomes very touchy but it¿s good because if you can react to it you must really like it and can understand like I did. I won¿t lie I cried several times throughout the book, but I loved it. I enjoyed learning about how others can look at life and accept it the way that it is. To have another point of view is what we all look for, another input is always helpful. I understand god better and have also came to my own terms. It opened me up as well and I am more acceptant of others and god himself. If only we all could feel the same effect, that would be amazing.
Throughout this tragedy Melissa meets several people who have already been down her road. The author puts several other people in the story to help guide her. They are there for her to not fret or worry about what the outcome might be. They give her faith along the way, is this what the author looks for or does she truly want to touch our hearts. I believe that she means to touch us and gives us an idea of what we might be able to relate to as well. She has an amazing look at life and publishes stories in ways that makes her people realize more to life than what we truly see.

I've only read a few of Lurlene McDaniel's books, but this is one of the greatest! This book shows the relationship between a rich, neglected daughter and a middle-class friend. Her books are fantastic and touch the heart. I'm hoping to read all of her books.
