I first read this book when I was 8, when I won it in a reading

I first read this book when I was 8, when I won it in a reading contest. Nearly ten years later, it is still one of my favorite books. I love it and reread it so much I nearly want to buy another copy of it because it's so battered.
Melissa's story and the way it's written is so amazing, and beautiful and sad. There is so much everything in this book. I was the kid who got in trouble for reading in class because I did not want to stop reading. I still do that, actually. I also cry over this book, it is dam impossible not to. But it's cause for concern when an eight year old starts crying over a book, which is what I did forever ago.
This book and Lurlene McDaniel in general, is amazing. It is such a must read, it's one of the best books I've ever read.

I have just recently finished reading the book Always and Fore

I have just recently finished reading the book Always and Forever by Lurlene McDaniel. This book was about a girl named Melissa and her fight with leukemia. It all starts out with her getting strange bruises on her body and no one knows where they came from. After she discovers she has leukemia her, her family, and her best friend (more like a sister) Jory are just trying to make it through everyday life. Throughout the book Melissa endures numerous hospital visits, but somehow throughout all her hospital visits she is more worried about school, her grades, and what college she is going to get into. To find out what else happens you will need to read the rest of this book. Will Melissa live? Will she fall in love? You will just have to read and find out.

This story was a very exciting read and it was a page turner, I couldn’t put it down because I needed to know what was going to happen next. This story is very believable because it does happen in real life. In real life people get cancer and they either live or die. In this story I found myself crying while reading in class. I really got involved in the story and found myself feeling like I had learned a lot about Melissa and her everyday life. The characters in this story seemed realistic and the author did a good job of describing them in detail so that in every part of the story the reader could relate to what was happening in their lives. If I had to choose what actors I would use to star if this book was made into a movie I could, because of how well the author described the characters.

The science content in the book is very realistic because of how people in real life do also get cancer. Also in the book it talks about the treatments like chemotherapy which makes your hair fall out, and it also talks about a bone marrow transplant which is one of your last hopes for getting rid of cancer. I’m not sure how much more I would like to find out about cancer and the treatment options for cancer because I don’t really want to think about it. Thinking about cancer to me is saddening but, this book actually made me want to maybe think more about becoming a doctor so I could save someone’s life if maybe they had cancer.

In my opinion at the beginning of this book you might want to put it down and stop reading because the beginning made me kind of skeptical about how well the rest of the book is written. Although if you keep reading I promise you that you will become intrigued in the book and you will want to keep reading. I would recommend this book to mostly girls who just enjoy reading in general and I would say that they should age from 13 to any age. The reason I don’t believe guys would enjoy this book is because it is mushy in some areas and I don’t think they have as many emotions as girls do so they wouldn’t feel as much pain for what is happening in the story. Finally out of 5 stars if 5 was the highest I would give this book a 4 because I have read books better than it, but there’s not many that have been above it that I can recall.

    Always and Forever

    Ashten Lindsey
Mrs. Sheffield

Time as it stands

In Always and Forever there is an amazing girl, Melissa, who lives with the ups and the downs of life. I think the author did amazing and I was touched many times throughout the book. It¿s very emotional and deep. It touched me in many ways. Even since I didn¿t relate to her situation I still thought it was outstanding in all of its ways. I would recommend this book to anyone. The author put an amazing outlook on life through her words; she has many points through the book.
Although Melissa has leukemia she looks at life differently than anyone else. She knows she¿s not going to make it. In parts of the story it becomes very touchy but it¿s good because if you can react to it you must really like it and can understand like I did. I won¿t lie I cried several times throughout the book, but I loved it. I enjoyed learning about how others can look at life and accept it the way that it is. To have another point of view is what we all look for, another input is always helpful. I understand god better and have also came to my own terms. It opened me up as well and I am more acceptant of others and god himself. If only we all could feel the same effect, that would be amazing.
Throughout this tragedy Melissa meets several people who have already been down her road. The author puts several other people in the story to help guide her. They are there for her to not fret or worry about what the outcome might be. They give her faith along the way, is this what the author looks for or does she truly want to touch our hearts. I believe that she means to touch us and gives us an idea of what we might be able to relate to as well. She has an amazing look at life and publishes stories in ways that makes her people realize more to life than what we truly see.

    FANTASTIC!!!

I've only read a few of Lurlene McDaniel's books, but this is one of the greatest! This book shows the relationship between a rich, neglected daughter and a middle-class friend. Her books are fantastic and touch the heart. I'm hoping to read all of her books.

    An Amazing Book

I am a huge fan of Lurlene McDaniel, and this book was absolutly amazing. I cried through the whole thing. It's a tiny bit, um, risque, if you will, but I couldnt put it down. I would be in math class and my teacher would be yelling at me for reading! It's an amazing book, and I have told everyone I know about it.

    Outstanding!

I found this book in my school's library and I thought it looked interesting so I got it. After I read the first 25 pages I could not put this book down. It tells of the struggles a person has to go through while dealing with cancer. I have never read a book that has made me cry before but this book certainly did that. I would recomend this book to anyone who loves great books.
