Overview

Always Remember, You are Loved: A Child's Curiosity About the Absentee Parent is a book that focuses on the overwhelming number of children that lose a parent to an unwavering selfishness that allows a parent to walk away without ever looking back. Every parent should want their child to thrive and be successful in all aspects of life. Unfortunately, not every parent shares this desire, which is often detrimental in the upbringing of a child.

No child is to blame for the lack of parenting skills of adults. Every child needs to know that they are gifts from God and that He loves ALL of his children. Every child also needs to realize and understand that they are worthy and deserving of unconditional affection and love. Not only that, but children are very observant and they often realize when their family is different from their relatives, friends, and classmates families. Once they realize that they are without a Mommy or a Daddy, they begin to inquire about why that parent is missing. How does one tell a child that their non custodial parent doesn’t want to see him/her? How does a Mom or Dad tell a child that the absent parent will never visit, simply by choice? Children begin to think that THEY are the problem. NO CHILD should bear the weight of adult situations on his/her shoulders. It is imperative that children understand that they are deserving of unconditional love. It is also important for slack or neglectful parents to understand the pain that they cause. Although this is a children’s book, it is a helpful tool for all.

Meet the Author

A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Angel D. Washington was reared in a home in which her parents were prominent professionally and in the community. They instilled the importance of education and determination.

As an adolescent, she was instructed by her father to read Ebony and Jet Magazines, watch 60 Minutes, then write and turn in a report and consequently developed a love for writing.

An author of a young adult novella, Angel decided to redirect her focus to the genre of children’s books after being inspired by a personal event. Because children are so easily influenced and affected by their experiences, it is her desire to impact them in the most positive and productive manner. With this in mind, she penned Always Remember, You are Loved.

Blessed with the love and support of family and friends, Angel resides in Las Vegas with her beau, Kelly, and sons, Christopher, KeyJon and Kyson.

What a way to pay it forward!

I am excited about sharing this book with not just my children, yet all children who may need to read and understand this message. Adults who may be an absentee parent will also benefit from reading the impact they have on the questionable hearts of our little ones who soon grow to be adults themselves; and may create a cycle of their own without even realizing it. I appreciate the author's effort to display an action with illustration of each topic. Always Remember You are Loved is a gift that most certainly keeps on giving!
