3.5 stars rounded to 3
The beginning of the story is very confusing. There are too many characters and their relationships aren't very clear. Jeremy is a
journalist with a news company in England. His fiancee's company is in the New World and he plans to join his in-laws news
company in the US. He would be leaving behind the man he loves, a photographer in the same English company. Gavin loves
Jeremy but never actually said the 3 words to him. When Jeremy is leaving, Gavin finally says the words that matter but Jeremy
doesn't believe him.
I love how Gavin eventually won Jeremy over. The story shows that the journey is more important than the destination. It doesn't
matter that Gavin said "I love you" but how and when he says it that matters. These MCs are still young and immature when they
break up, but years later, when they give each other another chance, their years and sorrows show in their words and that makes
their love confession more precious.
This is a melancholic story that has a HEA ending for its characters. The romance and conflict are subtle compare to the sex. For a
short story, the pacing and story telling flows smoothy and logically. Despite the minor confusion in the beginning, this is a very
romantic story with love shining through at the end.
