Always You is a novella, you get all the lovely ups and downs of romance in about half the time. And this novella doesn’t hold back at all, and quickly sucks you into the turmoil Lyla has been living with for five years, trying to forgive and forget the love of her life, all while planning her wedding to Nick; a man who loves and is good to her.

It’s an emotional ride, watching Lyla fight the love she has for Alex and hopes to find that same kind of love with Nick. Mudiganti does a wonderful job of expressing the torment of a woman stuck in such a predicament, when you can’t trust your heart enough to make the right decision about either man.

There are moments when you want to slap Alex, slap Lyla, scream at them both to just give into love and hug poor Nick for the torturous ride; which in my opinion, means you’re reading a good story to stir up such emotions in a reader. Mudiganti pulls off the connection between Lyla and Alex beautifully, you would have to be reading with your eyes closed to not see the strength of the love Lyla tries so hard to forget.

The love scenes were handed with a thoughtful and skilled touch, enough to pull me into the moment but not, well, graphic enough to make you uncomfortable. For someone like me who likes a lighter love scene, this was perfect.

Typically I steer clear of novellas (a mini novel), too often have they left me feeling unsatisfied; either like a book on speed, or jolting at the ending leaving the story to feel unfinished. And when I agreed to review Always You I feared the experience would be no different. Some people might think the ending came too quickly, and as a writer myself I can see where the story could have been drawn out longer - BUT this is a novella after all, and I think the ending was done with a trained eye. This mini novel doesn’t hold back, and draws you into the thrill of a good read, ending precisely when it should and in the manner is should. It moves at a good pace. You’re pulled in quickly, yet given the satisfaction of a proper ending. Over time I have become an anti-fan of novellas, but this one has made me reconsider that.

Mudiganti has a keen eye for love, the raw emotion it can churn up, and the utter whirlwind of confusion it can create. Overall I applaud her delicate hand in tackling the tricky task of novellas (sometimes much harder than writing a full-length novel). She has a story-tellers eye, the heart of a true writer, and is a lover of love. All the key ingredients for creating a sweet, solid romance. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of love, but doesn’t have the time to squeeze in a full novel.

A wonderful story of forgiveness and trust!

I truly enjoyed this read! Ms. Mudiganti has a unique writing style to combined multiple emotions and create a story that is full of love and hope, trust and friendship. Lyla and Alex were once in love. They fell in love during a grieving period when their best friend and the one they loved died tragically in a car accident. But, then Lyla left Alex when she learned the truth....or THOUGHT she learned the truth. Now, five years later, she's face to face with the man she'll forever hate. But, once she lays eyes on the gorgeous man from her past, the man who betrayed her and tore her heart out, she's not sure what her future holds. Nick, her fiance, wants her to finally commit to him, but she's left baffled by her feelings. Not wanting to hurt Nick, not wanting to hurt Alex, she calls it off with Nick and quits her job. But is that really what she wants? Especially after learning the truth from the one person who can prove to her that she CAN trust Alex. A story of forgiveness, love, trust, second chances and friendship, this is a 4 Book worthy short story. Just 87 pages long, Ms. Mudiganti packs it full of characters that tug your heart, a plot line that will take you on a whirlwind of emotion, and an ending that will leave the reader wanting more. I am a new fan of this author and I can't wait for another great story from her! This review originated at Reviews By Molly in part with a blog tour.

GMTA (Arlena) Reviewed "Always You" By Shilpa Mudiganti 4 Stars

"Always You" by Shilpa Mudiganti was a good romance novel. The author works her magic in getting Lyla and Alexander Knight back together. I found this novel a very easy, quick and steamy read. "Always You" was truly a story of misunderstanding, mixed emotions, anger, betrayal, forgiveness and then their was love. The story starts with Lyla trying to get on with her life after her heart had been broken five years ago by Alex. Lyla is now engaged to her fiance( Nick), is finishing this one last project in London before moving on with her new life in Spain. However, as fate would have it Alex has come back in Lyla life(due to fact that they just happen to be working on a big project due to work) and now she must face things that she thought were over between her and Alex. Was she still in love with Alex? Would Lyla uncover Alex's true feelings for her that lies beneath the hatred that was created since she last saw him? There was a secret that was well kept. You will simply have to read this novel to find out what that was! I found this novel was heartbreaking, loving, full of surprises and I found the details were amazing. I did enjoy the read and would definitely recommend it as a good quick romance novel.

I'm only saying what I'm about to because its pretty obvious how the book will end. When I finished this book I felt relived that finally, the protagonists aren't going in circles and driving themselves mad anymore. More than five years of unwanted hurt and pain that could have been avoided, has come to an end and everyone's happy! Thank goodness!

Now, thats out let me go into more detail. I was looking forward to reading this book. No, its not because I'm friends with the author nor is it because I designed the cover. I decided long before I got to know the author and began the first draft of the cover, that I liked the long summary of the book and that I was definitely looking forward to reading it. It started out really well, the fallbacks were written well, the writing style was a little choppy but good towards the middle. As the story got along, I noticed some mistakes in grammar, and punctuation and then, there was the part where I couldn't connect with the book, I didn't feel what Lyla (the main character) felt. I didn't tear up with her, I didn't get angry with her, even with Alex (the other main character), I didn't feel it.

Always you, is a great read for those who love short, romantic reads that are angsty and filled with odd twists and turns that I didn't see coming. And for a Novella its rare to find twists and turns. If you don't mind little errors here and there, and love romance. Try picking this up. You might like it.
