I went to the library to find a random book to read, and I chose this one, because it sounded interesting, and because I didn't feel like looking for too long. But I'm glad I picked this one up. The twists in Rollin's life gives the reader a new way of looking at the world. Rollin's way of finding success using a passive-aggressive approach, a no-quit attitude, and using sneaky ways of getting what she wanted, surprised and impressed me.  In her book A Romance about Work: Am I Getting Paid For This?, Betty Rollin gives us an honest and energetic look into her life, but perhaps not in a way that you'd expect. The book starts with her difficult beginnings as an actress, takes us through news reporting and the rise of television reporting that she shifted her life to accommodate, and even gives the reader a unique look into someone battling with cancer. Although I did not agree with some of her opinions and parts of her lifestyle, I found that her cunning and endless energy brought to me a unique outlook on life and the joys and sorrows it gives to all of us.  That being said, be prepared to keep up with a swiftly moving and changing mindset. Rollin had a way of jumping around and forcing the reader to connect the dots to find out what she was saying at times. However, this downside was overshadowed by Rollin's unique way of inviting the reader into her life and way of thinking. I very much enjoyed Rollin's book, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a classy and intelligent mind show them the 60's and 70's from the view of a writer and reporter. Sincerely,   Forrest
