Really enjoyed this one. So far I've read King Kong, Close Encounters, Hard Day;s Night, and now Amadeus. Mr. Morton writes in a style that is both comfortable & casual. His attention to detail is amazing - I never knew it was possible to know so much about so many films! A pleasure to read.

Imminently readable, an approachable take on a complicated production. I think music, film and history fans would all get a kick out of this. And unlike so many making-of books, this is actually well-written and smart, not just a recitation of anecdotes. Check it out!

    Insightful, informative and fun!

As a Mozart fan, I thought I'd read most everything out there. But a friend recommended this little gem to me after I'd mentioned the film and the stage play. Ever wanted to know the ins and outs of the thinking behind an Oscar-winning masterpiece? This books follows the playwright's journey from idea to smashing success, taking you along for the ride. Insightful, informative and fun!

    Highly Recommended

Amadeus is an Oscar winning film from 1984 - Best Picture... It is a clasic film and now Ray Morton's book details the story and details behind the movie - It comes from the Limelight Music On Film Series - A small volume packed with comprehensive and well researched information - Beginning with the complex story of Mozart and Salieri -And continuing thru the play and film - Morton documents this amazing story... A very enjoyable read - Yet scholarily and accurate - Highly recommended...

    Terrific film! Terrific book!

This is the definitive study of Milos Forman's brilliant film, which up until now has received limited critical attention. I have read Morton's books on CLOSE ENCOUNTERS and KING KONG...and he approaches AMADEUS with the same level of insight and intelligence. I highly recommend it.
