Meet the Author

Update Notice: August 16, 2013.Hello everyone, and thank you for visiting our Authors Page.As many of you know, Sasha and I have published for FREE, Book Two of our Amanda Ackers Novel series, "Amanda Ackers and The Realm Of The Witches"!We published Book One of the series, "Amanda Ackers and The Deep Forest Elves" for FREE on January 3rd, 2012. As of today, August 16, 2013, that book has been downloaded over 18,000 times! To say we are blown away would be a huge understatement! Book two of the series, which was published on March 28, 2012, has now been downloaded over 13,000 times. I guess a lot of people really do like the story!Sasha and I are working on Book Three of the series, "Amanda Ackers and The Thirteen Shards Of Legend," as we get the time. It should be available sometime in late 2013 or mid 2014, as we are both working on other novels as well. We have received hundreds of emails wanting book three out NOW! Thank you for that, but honestly, Sasha and I are not writers. We write our stories just for the fun of it, and have full lives other than writing :)Several people have requested reading Book Three, prior to its publication.Should any like a pre-release version when we get to the editing stage, please let us know.As you may know, we do require you to sign a non-disclosure agreement and fax it back to us... it’s just good business practice after all.Adding up the downloads from the first two books of our Amanda Ackers adventures series, and all our short stories, the first short published on November 14, 2011, our total downloads have now reached over 62,000 as of August 16, 2013!We are very thankful to you all, for supporting our work, which we do for the enjoyment of it.Our thanks also, to the many of you who have emailed us with kind comments on our stories and the first two books of our novel series, and those who have requested receiving a pre-release version of Book Three. We had never thought of doing a pre-release, but what a great idea! It gave many a chance to read book two of Amanda, before we actually published it. Thanks to all of you!We are most humbled by the response we have received, and thank you from the top, middle and bottom of our hearts! If anyone would like to correspond with us, please shoot us an email when you get the chance, we would love to hear from you.Email us at: GlennAndSasha@gmail.com--------------------------------------------Hello and thank you for visiting our Smashwords.com page.My name is Sasha Gabriel, and I would like to take a few moments to say a little about Glenn and myself. They say that creativity belongs to the young. Well, not always. Young at heart, I’ll buy, but nothing else.Writing is relatively new for me. I’ve been an avid reader for most of my 60+ years. But writing seemed daunting. How do you write an idea to get over to other people without boring them to death? How do you write conversations that sound like the people who are speaking them?Once I studied the “how to’s” a bit, and with the encouragement from Glenn, my wonderful husband and best friend, I started writing. And I love it. So does Glenn.Writing has opened a door for me that nothing else has – my imagination has soared and I’m absolutely thrilled and thankful, from the bottom of my heart, that others like my writing, as well. Both Glenn and I have been submitting very, very short stories (no more than 600 word stories) because these are also being entered into a writing contest with that directive. At the same time, both Glenn and I are writing novels (Glenn’s is awesome!!!! Think the depth of Lord of the Rings with the immediacy of Harry Potter and you’ve got it!).But I want to share something with you all… Glenn has battled Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia almost his entire life. That’s a mouthful, for sure, but try living with them on a daily basis!Even so, Glenn has worked to overcome the more serious side effects and his talent in writing, painting, and all over creativity is nothing short of staggering.Honestly… I’m running to keep up with him but I’m mostly just out of breath! So… the bottom line is… we’re all just human with all our challenges and it’s those challenges that make what we create that much better. Please… If you like to read… then write. If you like to paint… then paint. Pick up that paintbrush and start. For writing, get to your keyboard and begin. We think you’ll surprise yourself at your talents. And, again… Thank You all for your kind and generous words of appreciation for our stories! It means the world to us!-----------------------------Glenn here.Just wanted to add that we never thought anyone would even read our work, let alone have downloaded our little stories thousands of times in such a short time.Because of the kind words from you all, I will continue to write. I have, as Sasha had mentioned, been writing the Amanda Ackers novel series, with Sasha contributing several chapters to each book.I had only begun writing the novel for fun, for our grandson Logan. I was not going to publish it, just print it out to give to him. However, with all the encouragement I have received via email, from those reading our little short stories, I have decided to publish the first two books of the Amanda Ackers series for FREE. Everyone keeps telling us we need to charge for them, so, should we decide to do so, they will be no more than $0.99 cents in U.S. Dollars :)My many thanks to all of you, for your continued support. Please feel free to contact Sasha and I at the following email address. We would love to hear from you, even to just say hi:GlennAndSasha@gmail.com

    Well.....

This series appears to owe quite a few ideas to some other people. I don't think that a rather one sided polemic against the medival witch hunts is appropriate for a juvenial such as this. Painting all Christians with a broad brush is inaccurate at best. The witch hunts were a product of the Inquisition, though also political and economic. The Inquisition was a product of the Catholic church, not all of Christindom. I think that a ten page lesson on block code was somewhat excessive. All in all it isn't too bad. It has a sympathetic protagonist. The aantagonist is somewhat mysterious which is fun. With some editing it does have potential and I will read the third one, however, Isee why it is self published.

    Riveting!

I loved book one of this series. In this new book, within the first few chapters you are spellbound within the action. You have got to read this series if you haven't started. Best I've read in years.

    Best Series I¿ve Ever Read!

I love this series! I actually feel as though I know Amanda, Thian, Tianna, Tia, Sadie and the others. Book one was outstanding to say the least, but book two rocks! Like another reviewer had mentioned, this book has lots of action, adventure and, yes, it answered many of the questions I had from book one, but has introduced many new ones. I love the chapter on the Boogie, and the fight scene with the spiders was great! Cliff hanger ending. Can’t wait for book three.

I will appreciate a good story.

The repetitive details and over usage of italics aside (and yes... I read Appendix A), i stuck with Book 2 to hear the story which actually very nice. The biased and begrudging tirade about Christian Catholics was left out, which made me happy. Boy, I could go on a long time about how wrong it was to put that in a "children's" book, but I won't. But one thing that always bothered me was that once the group got out of a "danger" zone, everything became hunky dory. The overbearing convenience of limitless... wizitchal technology makes for a boring story without any real danger. Amanda hardly has ti leave her comfort zone of Earth because there is always an ATM and a burger joint around the corner.

Just finished reading this to my children. We all loved it! This book answers lots of questions from book one, and introduces new, very interesting characters. You'll love this series and so will your friends and family. I highly recommend this series.

    Outstanding Book!

Honestly, this is the best series I have ever come across. Loved book one, and read it to our three kids. This second book is even better. My kids can't get enough of it, actually, either can I or my wife. Anxiously waiting for book three.

Book one was great. This book is truly outstanding. The Bone Pit

Book one was great. This book is truly outstanding. The Bone Pit in chapter three really kept me turning the pages. Then I laughed in “Captured,” chapter six at Thian. Chapter ten, “One Wild Ride,” was exciting and the flaming rock people were very interesting. Shadow Alley was one of my favorites, and the character Wind Rider which we see near the end of the book, I somehow think we’ll see again. The great witch Bellinora, and her mother in the green vapor are terrific characters. I love how this book answers so many questions I had, but tosses in new ones. One of the best series I’ve ever come across. Can’t wait for book three!

    Simply Outstanding!

Book two answers a lot of questions I had from book one, such as, why Amanda spent so much time on and within the mountain. Also how she was able to do all the things she did, being just a young girl. Wow… I love this book even more than book one! This book has tons of excitement, lots of adventure, and we meet new and very interesting characters. I really like Bellinora and jasmine! If you have not read this series, you need to begin now.

    Terrific!

Wow, and I thought book one was outstanding. Like book one, this one soon starts with lots of excitement… made my skin crawl within the first few chapters… loved it! Very interesting characters in this book. I love how the book also answers many of the questions I had. At first, I thought Amanda had gone through way to many adventures on and within the mountain, and could not understand how a young girl could have survived all she went through. Now, I know why! This series just gets better and better. I would recommend this series to everyone.

    The improvement is evident

As the story progresses you can see the improvement in the writing and story telling, i like how the words are sometimes in italics like someone is telling a story

    Decent start

I too had issues with the editing and the overdone cypher descriptions, as well as some of the repetitiveness. The characters do seem to have a habit of forgeting they are in a life and death struggle...that being said, the series is evolving and getting better, and i will keep reading. Last thing...nice thought with trying to write as if this was a story being told to you by a bard..just be nice having THE wOrdS that ARE emphasized make sense.
