Overview

New York Times bestselling author JAYNE CASTLE

Acclaimed for her novels of “delectably entertaining paranormal romantic suspense” (Booklist), the wildly popular alter ego of bestselling author Jayne Ann Krentz takes off on a star-dusted excursion to a rich civilization where danger and passion are just a heartbeat away. . . .

Amaryllis Lark is one of the best psychic detectives on St. Helen’s, the earth colony recently cut off from the mother planet, yet not so very different from home. . . . Lucas Trent, the rugged head of Lodestar Exploration, isn’t keen on the prim type—and from her crisp business suit to her cool evaluation of his request to bust a corporate thief, beautiful Amaryllis is excruciatingly proper. But when a bold hunch heats up into a twisting murder investigation, by-the-book Amaryllis must let her guard down and break some rules—and a red-hot love affair ignites. Now, as they race to solve a puzzle of deadly intrigue, no power—otherworldly or otherwise—can keep them apart!

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
When professional full-scale prism Amaryllis Lark agrees to serve as the "focus" for the highly psychically talented Lucas Trent in a security investigation for his company, their mind-link produces excitementand leads them into a dangerous search for a clever psychic murderer. The chemistry between the pragmatic hero and prissy heroine is on target here. Writing under the name Jayne Castle for the first time in 16 years, veteran romance writer Jayne Ann Krentz takes her trademark combination of witty, upbeat action; lively sensuality; and appealing characters to the unique, synergistic world of St. Helens. Readers may also be interested in some of Krentz's earlier futuristic works (e.g., Shield's Lady, Starfire), recently re-released under her own name. She lives in Seattle.

    Amazing Trilogy!!

The Whole Trilogy (Zinnia, Orchid, and Amarylis) is the best out of all of Castle's books. I wish, wish, wish she would go back to THESE stories!! I've tapered off reading her most recent ones over the last couple of years because they just don't keep me as enthralled as this World does. MUST READ

    Amaryllis

Purchased to replace an old missing copy, this is one of those guilty pleasures that are great for rainy days, beach days, 'I need a break' days.
    Enjoy!

    captivating and enthralling

I found this book a wonderful read. I have read the other two in the series, but they could not compare to this one. It was my favorite. Krentz is a vary talented writer no matter what name she writes under.

    OK!

I kind of had to force myself to finish this ebook. It seems like a pale comparison to the Harmony Series even though I know this book was written before Harmony. It wasn't bad per se but it was like comparing a pebbble to a boulder. Amaryllis was a little flat and one dimensional and I guess since I read Harmony first a little confusing. Just like most of us she definitely got better with experience.

fun & light, not real literature

I enjoy Jayne Ann Krentz/Jayne Castle while realizing that her plots and story lines are predictable. Virginal, strong women fall in love with strong, honorable men... Fun reads every time!

    Previously published.

This is not a new book. It was previously published. B&N should tell its customers this fact. Because it is an old book, the price should not be that of a new publication. However, having said that, it is vintage Jayne Castle, aka Jayne Ann Krentz, and a great read.

    A great book

I thought this book was very good. It was fun to read and I really enjoyed the interaction between the characters. This book was like her Harmony series in nature. If you love your romance with a paranormal bent you will like this book.
