Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
This rhyme has certainly made its appearance in several board and picture books. A mama duck and her five little ones start out as a family group. Then the five decide to go out for a walk "over the hill and far away." On the return only four come back home, and so it goes until there are none left, and mother duck heads out "over the hill and far away." The mother returns with her entire brood. The obvious lesson is counting, which is reinforced with die cuts, numbers, and text. On the final spread, the ducks are numbered one through five, and mother duck has a soft area to touch to simulate her feathers. This book is part of the "Amazing Baby" series.
