Which dracula-like creature gorges on so much blood that it gets bloated and has to wee before it can fly away?
Children's Literature - Shelly ShafferAmazing Creatures is a book that describes many living things in the world. Readers can look up categories such as: "Really Wild," "Smelly Animals," "Animal Stickers," and many more. The table of contents contains 12 different categories of "Amazing Creatures." There are some incredible pictures of animals in the book. Each section of the book features three to four creatures that fit into a certain category. There are many "foul facts" listed throughout the book; this trivia about various living things would be of great interest to young readers. This book would be a great resource for a classroom library in elementary school, because the students could learn a few quick facts about animals that they may not have known about beforeand may want to know more about after the book. There is also a brief section where the child can complete a craft and make his/her own "amazing creature." This would be an excellent resource for a possible lesson plan for teachers who are studying animals in their classrooms. The glossary is helpful for identifying new terms, and the index is a great resource for students to find a particular animal or fact quickly. This book is part of the series "Awesome Animals."
