Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Beverley Fahey
For little ones just beginning to explore the ABCs and all the words you can make using letters, this is a fun learning tool. Each page features an upper and lowercase letter and several words that begin with the letter. All but one or two of the words are visible in the large, colorful illustration. By lifting the flaps the other words are revealed, often with amusing results. For example on the B page the words to locate are bear, beaver, bed, bicycle, blanket, and book. A large bear reading a book in a comfy bed covered with a red blanket is easy to spot. Lift the blanket edge to reveal a beaver on a bicycle gnawing the wooden leg. There are car doors to open, sheet music to turn, a queen's train to lift, a tea cozy to peek under, and things hidden in bushes, under tables and Indian headdresses. The sturdy book with its clean crisp illustrations is free of clutter, and the flaps are large enough for the smallest of hands. This book will provide hours of fun for preschoolers.
