Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Sharon Oliver
In a quick 32 pages, this volume in the "Amazing Magic Tricks" series provides slightly more difficult tricks, building on the skills learned in the beginner level volume. A two-page introduction provides some helpful hints for potential prestidigitators, including how to make use of an assistant and what some appropriate props might be. Ten tricks are explained, and these range from the more simple creation of a magic box that will enable you to magically transfer an item from pocket to box to the more complicated palming of a magic message. Each trick's instructions are given over a two- or four-page spread. Clear step-by-step directions are presented along with photographs of the author/magician performing each step. All should be easily accomplished with a little practice. This series includes three more titles covering beginner, expert and master level tricks. The photographs are numerous and clear, with easily understandable written directions. The books in this series are a good addition to all juvenile collections. Reviewer: Sharon Oliver
