Tigers are unique and beautiful, with stripes that make them unique. All stripes are different. The tiger's stripes provide camouflage, which helps make it harder to see him in the grassy plains. Tigers hide from their prey, which include deer and other wildlife, and because tigers are not the quickest animals, they have to sneak up on their prey. It may take many attempts before a tiger succeeds in catching a meal. Female tigers give birth to about three or four cubs. Since cubs grow up without a father, they watch their mother very closely and learn how to hunt and swim and find places to stay. The cubs remain with their mother until they are about two years of age and then they are on their own. They may never see each other again because tigers live alone. Tigers not only hunt other animals; they too are hunted. People hunt down these beautiful animals for their skins. Tigers tigers live mainly in Russia and India and will continue on the path to extinction until humans stop hunting them.     School Project Use

    My daughter used this book for a 4th grade project where she was doing an oral report and poster that required pictures. This book was excellent for the pictures that were cut and attached to the poster depicting different tiger actions and activities.

    For Tiger Fans

    I must read for young tiger fans. Our first grader very much enjoys the book. It is interesting and easy to read.
