At present there are eight in this particular series but there are more using an artic setting. The books do not have to be read in order, each one supports itself. The mermaids are not sisters except in the sense all females are sisters. The books teach lessons about charity, honesty, self-esteem and have the mermaids go on adventures in the seas. Again, they are a great read for 8 to 14 year olds

My daughter reads these in one day, but they are hard to find.
