The Amelia Bedelia series has been beloved for many years; it is exciting to see a new view on the series following Amelia Bedelia and her school-aged days. As a teacher of young students, I enjoy this series as it is fun for young readers along with introducing them to chapter books early in their educational career. These books are a great way to get young students started on chapter books. This particular book is full of appropriate humor for children along with facts about farm life. I feel that the new edition to the series will be even more delightful for children as many of the literal but humorous thoughts that young Amelia Bedelia has are relatable to many students as they are learning and growing. I would highly recommend the Amelia Bedelia series new and old, especially this book about the farm and field trips as this can be used to teach students about farms. It is also relatable as many children start going on field trips in their educational career about the time they are able to read and comprehend this book. Lastly this book has appropriate and humorous illustrations to help aide the storyline.
I bought this book to donate to my local library. I do this every Christmas. Amelia Bedelia was a favorite when my girls were little and was thrilled when I saw the books were still being written years later (my youngest is 25 years old) and knew some other children would enjoy them too.
