Amelie Violet Biggs is a fictional character that came from my imagination. Bits and pieces of my own childhood are scattered throughout the book to shape the storyline. She battles thru her misfortunes and finds comfort in the imaginary paper dolls she creates who become her make-believe playmates thru her recovery.

About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I was born Connie Lynn Wertella at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Detroit Michigan to Donald and Helen Wertella in the year 1952. I am the eldest of 4 siblings, 1 sister and 2 brothers, one of whom was ill and passed as a baby. I am from Ukraine decent on my mother's side and German from my father's dad, and French Canadian from my father's mother. My family moved several places in Michigan as I was growing up ranging from Detroit to Dearborn Heights/grade school, Milford/junior high, and West Bloomfield for high school. My teen years were consumed with partying with my friends and going to as many concerts as I possibly could. It was a great time to grow up in the 60's and 70's and I believe some of the best music of our times was born then. After high school graduation I attended Oakland Community College and majored in Art. Later in life I attended Northwestern Michigan College and got my associate's degree in dental assisting. My adult married life I lived in Traverse City, Michigan where my son was born and raised. I now reside and am retired in Novi, Michigan. I love to swim, cook, garden, oil paint and write. I also love spending time with my family and my cats!
