Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

Sarah Palin's Going Rogue earned her slots on bestseller lists coast to coast, but according to the former Alaska Governor, it also had another, unforeseen benefit: She credits her book tour conversations with ordinary Americans as the inspiration for this book. In America By Heart, the always outspoken former vice presidential candidate intersperses personal reflections with her favorite classic and contemporary readings on family, religion, and patriotism. Rousing selections for like-minded mavericks; bound to be a bestseller.

"america by heart" is a very exellent book. this is sarah palin at her best. the 2012 candidate shares in this bestseller her faith sermons that have been special to her and many of these countrys founding documents that have influenced her and what is very special about this book is she has many special comments and how they have shaped her faith and politics this read will be great to get to know gov palin in 2012 as she will be one of the top contenders.

Where has the civility gone in America?

What Sarah Palin has to say may not be for everyone. That's fine. But...in this country we have had a tradition of civil discourse. I am truly disappointed by the tone of the negative "reviews" about this work. If you don't like a personality, fine...but any intelligent person will evaluate the work, not just the writer. Additionally, any intelligent American will not use name calling and condescending epitaths aimed at readers with opposing opinions in hopes of distracting from the void of relevant commentary on the actual work.

Like Palin or not...her work needs to be judged on its merit alone, not political vitriole or character assassination.

Read her work with an open mind...then decide for yourself.

A proud American who still remembers how to agree and disagree respectfully.

Wisdom From The One Who Quit In The Middle Of Her Governorship

There is nothing in this book for anybody with an IQ higher than a baseball score. It is filled with Fox News Platitudes and stale RNC talking points. Obviously she is attempting to create a launching pad for a 2012 Presidential run. Rather than provide her with the launch pad she seeks the book only validates why this simpleton should never hold public office again. Need we be reminded she didn't know there were two Koreas and based her foreign policy experience on the fact she could see Russia from her house.

Excellent - and from the heart!

This is a great book by a great American. In a country where bias as become the norm, it's nice to see someone write about the things that have made this country great - mainly the heart of families and life experiences growing up in a place that offers whatever you want to make out of your life.

Hats off to Ms. Palin for her courage to speak about her beliefs in our country. God Bless her and the United States of America!

    Not worth 1 star

This is self-serving garbage. Patriotism isn't belonging to an organization that wants Alaska to leave the union. This woman couldn't even handle a full term as governor of Alaska and people want her to have her finger on the bomb button. God help us is right. She knows nothing of what it really means to be an American. Freedom isn't reserved for large companies or for gun ownership, but she'd gladly trade our individual rights for her view of freedom.

    You haven't read it!

How can you give a book 1 star that you haven't even read yet? Hate that's how, so I guess I can give it 5 stars since I at least plan to buy and read the book. She is more woman than any of the hate mongers on this page. Can't wait to read it. Go Sarah, God Bless

    More of the same, gibberish

I cannot believe that folks are actually paying to read about the fragmented and often times meaningless thoughts of Sarah Palin.

    Haven't we learned yet?

Haven't we learned from President Bush having faith and caring is simply not enough? He had character, yet he is better suited as a character role model than a President creating decisions to lead the Nation. The road to hell is paved with good intentions; if Sarah Palin is a saint it will not matter, she is incompetent. God will HAVE to help us if she ever gets into office as her cheerleading moronic tendancies will turn the world and even God away from an America which is so shortsighted to place this imbecile into office.

Don't waste your time or money!

This book was awful! There was nothing genuine about it. It read like a public relations firm trying to promote their client's interest. The title should have been "Sarah Palin: From America's wallet to her heart.

    More bumper sticker speak

Sarah Palin speaks and writes in nothing more profound than the bumper stickers we see on cars. If you like her perspective you will like the book. If you don't you won't. I don't. I respect views of people with whom I don't agree if they can support them with fact and thoughtful debate; David Brooks, David Frum and Kathleen Parker provide examples of such. Sarah Palin does not.

    A Great American Story

Sarah Palin is an excellent and contemporary author. She has a steady rhythm and voice throughout the text and offers strong mentorship to young 20-somethings like myself. If you read the book with an open mind instead of hate you will learn about our great country. Enjoy it, it's wonderful!

    Do not buy

What a poor book, I read through it at the local Walmart while standing in the aisle. Took about 5 minutes for me to decide that Palin needs to pay a better ghost writer.
I would not spend a nickle for this book.

    A Great and Timely Read

Sarah Palin's latest book is a very good read. I also read "Going Rogue" and I enjoy her writing style. The book is not just rehashed rhetoric but instead is Palin's conservative views supported by historical speeches and writings. She does a very good job of weaving these excerpts into the flow of the book. This book would be inspirational to today's next generation of girls. I plan to ask my daughters to read the book. In "Going Rogue" you read about Sarah Palin's life story and presidential campaign. In "America by Heart" you'll understand why and from where Sarah gets her conviction and drive to serve our country as a Commonsense Constitutional Conservative.

    Tripe.

I was fortunate to read this book for free. I really find it difficult that she has read any of the famous writers and thinkers she quoted from. I guess she is trying to redeem herself from the Katy Couric fiasco! Real hard core Sarah Fans will by the book and perhaps many may read it, After all, many German People did by Mein Kampf and never read it. Buy it if you love Sarah by all means she desperately needs the money to maintain her narcissist fix for attention.
