Overview

**This limited-in-number, signed edition of Sarah Palin's America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag features a signed tip-in page and removable sticker on the cover. The perfect holiday gift for any Sarah Palin fan.**

In the fall of 2009, with the publication of her #1 national bestselling memoir, Sarah Palin had the privilege of meeting thousands of everyday Americans on her extraordinary 35-city book tour. Inspired by these encounters, her new book, America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag, celebrates the enduring strengths and virtues that have made this country great.

Framed by her strong belief in the importance of family, faith, and patriotism, the book ranges widely over American history, culture, and current affairs, and reflects on the key values—both national and spiritual-that have been such a profound part of Governor Palin's life and continue to inform her vision of America's future. Written in her own refreshingly candid voice, America By Heart will include selections from classic and contemporary readings that have moved her-from the nation's founding documents to great speeches, sermons, letters, literature and poetry, biography, and even some of her favorite songs and movies. Here, too, are portraits of some of the extraordinary men and women she admires and who embody her deep love of country, her strong rootedness in faith, and her profound love and appreciation of family. She will also draw from personal experience to amplify these timely (and timeless) themes—themes that are sure to inspire her numerous fans and readers all across the country.

Meet the Author

Sarah Palin is the former Governor of Alaska, and the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling memoir, Going Rogue, published in November 2009. She grew up in Alaska, where she and her future husband, Todd Palin, graduated from Wasilla High School in 1982. Palin graduated from the School of Journalism at the University of Idaho. She served two terms on the Wasilla City Council, two terms as the city's mayor and manager, and was elected by her peers as president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. She then chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, and the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. Palin was elected Alaska's youngest, and first female governor, serving from 2006 to 2009. While governor, she was tapped as Senator John McCain's running mate in 2008, becoming the first female Republican vice presidential candidate in our nation's history.

The Palins reside in Wasilla with their five children and one grandson. They enjoy an extended family throughout Alaska and the Lower 48.

First, this is a real signed edition. I have a personally signed edition, and bought some copies of this to give to the 20 somethings in my family. The signatures are as identical as personally signed signatures get. (For those who say it's stamped and not signed, try suing HarperCollins for false advertising.) The book explains why "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights" is at the center of American democracy and the implications for our national political and economic life. But, it isn't dry and boring as most books on the subject tend to be. It's easy to read and peppered with illustrations from Palin's life and her family's life. Because of that, it's easy on the attention span. It's so good I'm giving this to young adults in my family. You won't find a better modern, popularly written book on the subject.

I am truly looking forward to reading about Governor Palin's experiences traveling across this amazing country. She has always been cheerfully optimistic and yet carefully skeptical about those who want to improve this country. We've all witnessed the insurgence and coronation of an administration that promised to change a country they claim to love. So far, we've seen change, but little if any improvement. If Rogue is the meterstick the Governor used to pattern it, then America By Heart should be a great read. And BTW, how does having a Reality TV show diminish one's character? Reagan was a "B movie" actor. He pretended for a living prior to politics. Sarah isn't acting on the screen. It's all By Heart.

Why fight the crowds at a book signing? I can't believe there are still signed copies left - I bought two. They're selling on EBAY for much, much more than $16 (check it yourself - $39.99 plus shipping). Don't believe the post saying its a fake. An author customarily signs a tip in page (in bulk) and the publisher binds these pages into the book at first publishing. These tip in sheet signatures are real - Barnes and Noble's rests their reputation on it.

The "signature" is simply a printed facsimile. The big draw to give this book as a gift was the fact that Palin had signed it. Certainly there is nothing else in this book that would attract my attention. When the cover says it is a "signed edition" and the publisher's description says it features a special tipped-in page, I believe it is fair to assume Palin actually signed it. When I found out the "signature" was identical in every detail in all five books I purchased, it was obvious that Palin had come up with another untrue promotional gimmick. Duped again by the facsimile governor.

...she is interesting to watch. I love the fact that she is a concerned mother and a great wife. I may not always agree with her politics or statements, but I am open enough to hear what she has to say. So I am waiting to read this book. I'd also recommend that you buy "When God Stopped Keeping Score," another great book, which takes an eye opening look at forgiveness. Given the chance, it will change your life.
