Overview

It is time to change directions...not left or right, but forward. It is time to put America and Americans first. Great ideas, but the words don't mean much without a light to follow. In this book, that light is the 6-Rs--Right, Rights, Reason, Responsibility, Respect and Realism. Plus a sense of humor as well as humility.
AMERICA IN 61 ACRES is not a work of detailed research, but a challenge to come together as Americans...to come together as one nation under God. But it doesn't matter what you call God, so long as you call him good.
This book takes a different view of several current issues, especially the recession, its causes, its cures. It declares that investment must be true, that jobs must result, that taxes on false investment should be high. Get rich...but get rich through true investments.
There are short discussions of several issues--environment, immigration, population, gay marriage, abortion, race, government, courts, unions, healthcare, charity and more. The usual approach here is somewhat different from the usual approaches elsewhere.
The hope is to bring together a supermajority of Americans to form an improved method of governing, with hope for those at the bottom as well as those at the top. Some on the right and some on the left will be upset, but most of us might just agree with most of the book. Respectful suggestions are welcome. The author realizes your ideas could be better than his.

Meet the Author

Charley Goodman has been reading, writing and grumbling about politics for forty years, not as a publiched author but as an American with a keen interest in and love for his country. He has an associate degree in Political Science. With several occupations on his bio, he worked longest and most successfully as an independent trucker.
Most of his life has been spent in the West, especially Oregon. He enjoyed two years in the Philippines, where he married Celsa of Cagayan de Oro.
His hope, backed by a theist's prayer, is that this book might help move America forward, even as its suggetions are improved by readers' inputs...including brickbats.
