The volume includes an introduction describing election trends for the 2001-2002 election cycle as well as a summary of special elections held to fill vacancies in the 107th Congress and a list of changes in membership in the 108th. The bulk of the volume is devoted to the 50 chapters of election tables for each state, with tables giving statistics on the votes for president, governor, senator, and representative from 1946 to the present. County-by-county tables of the elections are included. Maps of each state and its counties, major population centers, and congressional districts are included.
