Ms Hoklotubbe must write from experience because the local Cherokee color is very accurate. Beyond that, she weaves an interesting story line that was a pleasure to read. I enjoyed the book and plan to read her next one as well. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

This story captures smalltown quirkiness while remaining a fairly serious murder mystery. The murder was particularly heinous in that the victim was the former owner of the local restaurant, long established and known and loved by her customers and townfolk. The American Cafe is the second Sadie Walela mystery, following the first by too long a gap...eight years. Sadie's Cherokee heritage is prominent in both books. I hope it will not be such a long wait for the next installment. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
