I was surprised the book contained so much information about the early 1400-1500's. I thumbed through the book to where the 20th century was being discussed and started there. Although I referenced the earlier times, I found my students more interested in the twentieth century to the present. I found the book to be detailed and nearly intreging from 1900 to the present; it is well balanced allowing for readers to understand a broad picture and yet many specifics, sometimes bringing rationalization to an often irrational period of time.
