    I Also Recommend:

"Birds of North American" is a very useful reference book for bird identification.

Great photography, information and discriptions about the various birds listed make this book a very attractive and educational addition to the reference library. Great for use in indentifing birds that may be seen in the backyards, or on the farms in North America.

    Worth the Investment

This is a large book, and makes a great reference book for those who love birding, are studying birds or have a family who likes to do the backyard birdwatch. It contains much information about ornithology in general, the anatomy and physiology of birds as well as the differences in different species and their living habits. It would also make an excellent book for a school library.

    I highly recommend this book.

My family loves this book. We use our smaller field guides when on birding outings, but use this book at home to double check our identifications and learn more about the birds we see. The photos are great and find the references to similar birds very helpful. This is an excellent addition to our bird library.
