    Truly the American Nightmare

Truly, the American Nightmare. Bob is in his 50¿s, worked hard, put everyone¿s needs above his own, never said no. Take it all away. His wife divorced him and limited his visitations to his children and his boss fired not only him, but everyone else in his company since it is being outsourced. Bob finally snapped. A dark side emerged with rage, fury and a primal need for revenge in disturbing ways. Bob feels no guilt with the killing of others. While the book could be written a bit better and some grammatical errors need to be corrected, it is a haunting story of how the mind can only handle so much.

    Godawful

Did you (the author) even finish high school? After reading this "book" my guess would be no. Please have someone proofread before you embarass yourself further.

    more from this reviewer

    Interesting premise, very poor execution

The idea of Bob the serial killer, a man driven to extremes by circumstances - his abusive wife divorcing him and taking his four children away, his entire department being out-sourced and him losing his job after 22 years - who starts killing people was an interesting one, and I had hoped I would enjoy the story. While there were parts I liked OK, most of it was incoherent, rambling and redundant - the author is in desperate need of a copy and content editor, and critique group, to help him fix this mess. I started reading the sequel, "The Retreat," and came across this sentence, which is a great example of the sort of sentences you can expect in these books: "Bob drove back and forth past his house a few times and slowly calmed down. But he was now furious and while he could quell his emotions, his mind had walked over to the dark side and functioning from there." I have decided not to finish the sequel and unfortunately I am unable to recommend these books.

    For graphic horror fans

The premise of the book has a Dexterish promise so I was initially interested. This novella is not Dexter but I found it to be worth reading. I could empathize with the main character but not agree with his psychotic response to his situation.

The writing style needs polishing and some editing. However, the longish short story kept me reading to the end. The ending is open for a sequel but please, don't write it. I was intrigued enough to read the story given the length. I could not/would not read the full length novel of this story.

If you like the horror genre, this would be a worthwhile read and it is worth $0.99. Buy this novella and help support T.K. Murphy. I think this author has promise.

I gave it 3.0 stars but would have given 3.5 if that option was available.

    Horror Nightmare

Okay I did not like this book because of subject matter. But it lived up to its name. If you like horror or nightmare than this might be the book for you.I felt sorry for Bob for a little while.
Bob was divorced by his wife four years ago he was so passive that she got car, kids and lots of his money each month.
He has worked his way up the company ladder for 22 years. Three more and he retires with benafits. Half the company including him were fired and work transfered to India after they trained their own replacement workers. Bob also cooked for land lady. He lived in her barn.
Bob than snapped and got worse and worse. More gross out than ever and kept getting more violent. I had a hard time reading it.
Horror is not my cup of tea. I was given this ebook in exchange for honest review.

    .

This book would have had so much more promise if the author had a grasp on the English language. It was difficult to read and it was awful how he told the backstory on the victims in this. This author needed an editor badly.

Interesting novella of the downward spiral of a middle aged man

Interesting novella of the downward spiral of a middle aged man who has done the right thing all his life and ends up with nothing, that is until he finds a purpose. Not a bad story, couple of editing flaws that don't really detract, just made me have to reread the sentence context but wasn't a bad way to spend an hour in the sun.
