I remember my mother keeping an old Red Cross first aid manual in the house when I was a kid; I would consult it whenever my teddy bear needed a sling or bandage. My bear survived, but I'm not sure whatever happened to that book. Happily, I found this new Handbook. It still has instructions for making slings, as well as current information for dealing with all sorts of emergencies from cuts and burns to electrocutions and strokes. Be sure to keep it with your first aid kit for on-the-spot reference.

    very useful

    this book is very useful to anyone who has a family and need first-aid tips, but it is also very useful to anyone who is in the emergency medical field. Both my husband and I are emts that is why we bought the book, but our 13 year old daughter who will be going for her first responder this summer has been reading the book also and feels it will be helpful for her when she starts classes. This is a great refference book but I guess I would expect nothing less from the American Red Cross. They are the best of the best!!!!!
