The cover of this book is now sadly a bittersweet reminder of a true American hero and an icon. This is an excellent collection full of profiles of some of NASCAR's most celebrated and beloved drivers. There are countless pictures of the drivers and their cars from all of NASCAR's exciting decades. Like most books of this kind, we're treated to stories about the human side of the sport. Unlike today's 'stick and ball' athletes, we're never allowed to forget that NASCAR drivers are real people with real lives and that they love their fans. Not just racers, these men are heroes, and they're the kind of people any parent should be proud to have their children look up to. Highly recommended for fans of the sport, racing fans, or for anyone who has forgotten what a real athlete is all about.
