First-I was a gang officer in the South Bay of California for 2 years. I believe this book NEEDS to be read by everyone, because the author punctures a lot of ideologic stances in favor of objective science. Accordingly, the current gang 'industry,' whether police or social workers, will tend to be threatened as they defend their favored approaches-both of which appear to not be addressing the primary problem of 'gang cohesion.' Also, Dr. Klein points out that the definition of 'gang' is slippery, making available data of dubious use. The book won't provide all the answers, but it will start the right questons..Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
