    Super third!

I was so excited to read the third installment of the Vampire for Hire series! I have really gotten into this series and just love it! Sam is a great character. I really felt for her and the things she has to deal with in this book are very emotional. Cant wait for the next installment!

Would be five stars with proofreading and editing help!

So I have loved all three of these books. The main character is great and just wait till you find out who Fang is! The plot is original for a vampire book and the characters are great but often times things like meeting Sephora in book two are left and not touched again until the very end of the book and she never was a contributing character. In the first book Sam is supposed to be overly skinny and no mention is really made of her invisible status which is something I would think important, by book three she is short and curvy according to the description. I guess I wouldn't be disappointed if these didn't have the potential to be such amazing books; if only they had been edited and proof read better!

Promising new author - Looking forward to more~!

Strong independant female lead characters are my favorites and those that are human too are easy to relate to. Even if they are vampires. The characters are well rounded with enough mystery left to leave room for more books. I seriously enjoyed the first 3 books of this series....impatiently waiting for Moon Child. Hurry, hurry! Write faster ;-) as I can go through 1 to 3 books a day.

    Done with this series....

These books are like just throwing so many chapters out there and then......to be continued. And then another 30-40 pages of previous chapters of other books. Don't waste your time.

    My Favorite So Far!

J.R. Rain's books go down like smooth chocolate. He doesn't hit a false note, in my opinion. Everything his characters say rings true. His plots are seamless. His twists are fun. His characters are real. You will have a lot of fun with anything J.R. Rain writes.

    A Wonderful Book!

I loved this book so much, just as I have enjoyed this entire series. The author has an uncanny ability to bring out a lot of emotions in his character. Powerful, fun, wonderful supernatural mysteries.

I just finished American Vampire. It is the third book in the Vampire For Hire series. It is written by J.R. Rain. It takes place in Orange County, California.

This book is about a girl who goes missing along with her mother. Sam does everything in her power to find the little girl. She also helps an art gallery locate a very valuable piece that got stolen. Her son also gets sick. She struggles to balance all of these things throughout the book.

I understand this series more and more as I keep reading into it. This one helped me understand that the advanced vocabulary is set up because that's how Sam talks naturally. I love ho J.R. Rain captures your attention and keeps it all the way through the books! I can't wait to read the rest of this series! I highly recommend it!

    You've Got to Be Kidding!

I stayed with the Vampire for Hire series until this one. American Vampire aggravated me. I thought the author was trying to establish a main character who, despite becoming a vampire, maintained a certain morality. She, in fact, used animal blood for sustenance which shows me she was trying to do the right thing. Then the Author introduces the American Vampire--a human who had unusually large canines. He killed a couple of people in his obsession with vampirism and escaped imprisonment. Now he is on the lam and stalking Sam. Okay--I get it that she isn't afraid of him because she is a vampire and unnaturally strong but tell me what is sexy about a guy who is a stalker?? There is nothing cute about someone with that mindset. He is sick on so many levels and yet the author has Sam attracted to him--even contemplating turning the sicko into a vampire. As for Sam--well she obviously has issues. First she allows her scum ex husband to belittle her --making her seem like a weak minded individual then she is hot for Fang. This is one inconsistent woman. I am having a hard time liking her enough to want to continue with her story. Plus, I am seriously questioning her ability as a private investigator--I mean what person spills their life story on the internet and doesn't even realize she is being stalked by that same person? Would you hire her? I wouldn't. Perhaps the author simply doesn't like women and he doesn't think one could behave with intelligence and honor--or perhaps he is writing a woman who behaves more like a man. Either way this book has exhausted my interest in the continuing adventures of Samantha Moon.

American Vampire is the third book in the Vampire for Hire serie

American Vampire is the third book in the Vampire for Hire series. Samantha Moon starts receiving phone calls from a small child begging for help. It is a race to see if Samantha can save the little girl before she is killed.
Samantha has started to demonstrate more paranormal skills. She just wants to be a good mother to her children, have someone love her and keep her business running so she can support herself and her two kids.
This is another great book by J.R. Rain. I just love the Vampire for Hire series. It always has a great detective story, some romance, action and humorous situations. I recommend this series to anyone who wants to have a great afternoon of reading.

Rain juggles emotions in book 3 of the Samantha Moon series, American Vampire.

Rain juggles emotions in book 3 of the Samantha Moon series, American Vampire.

Some kick-ass, LOL, cry your eyes out moments and a few OMG surprises.
    Relationships go wacky.

    Business is good—painful, but good.

Sam's X is up to his usual crap.

And just when Sam (and the reader) thinks things are beginning to head in the right direction, a tragedy, rocks Moon's world, leaving her with a decision—a decision that ends the book with a hook so big you just have to move on to Moon Child. The title adds to that hook because it emphasizes the two big questions: Did she? Or didn't she?

Even though, IMHO, book 1 started the series out with a slow place, I definitely recommend diving into the next two, and holding on tight, because from then on, you're in for a fun ride.

I'll be digging into Book 4, soon.

    Pretty Good

This was pretty good. I didn't like how I was left hanging at the end. I wanted to know what she did about her son. I hope she doesn't risk turning him into a campire.

I liked this, the third Samantha Moon book. What I really liked was how J.R. Rain brought in some characters from a couple of his other series. This makes me want to get them also.

    What a ripoff!

This is really not a book. It is more like a short story that leaves you hanging at the end by saying it is continued in the next book. The plot is interesting but the author spends too much time explaining what happened in the first two books. Wish I hadn't gotten sucked (a vampire term) in to buying this book. It won't happen again. Guess I don't care whether or not Samantha Moon is going to decide whether or not she is going to bite your 7 year old son and turn him into a vampire in order to save his life.

Very touching - Shows the complexity of Samantha

I thoroughly enjoyed the story but was upset by the ending. The cliff hanger is just that, we wrap up one story and get a peek at the next. I wont spoil it. Can't wait to read the next one and see how Samantha develops her skills.
