American Wedding

Barnes & Noble - David Sprague
The third installment in the American Pie series breaks some new matrimonial ground -- and offers up a passel of tunes appropriate for a wedding reception albeit one with some good soundproofing. The soundtrack is dominated by pop-punk favorites like the Foo Fighters, Good Charlotte, and New Found Glory, whose "Forget Everything" is one of a handful of previously unreleased tunes here. Not to say that American Wedding never ventures beyond the "three chords and a cloud of dust" concept: Avril Lavigne provides a touch of grrrl power on the snazzy "I Don't Give" a previously unrecorded song that's been getting good response at her live shows, while the Wallflowers offer ...

The mood is light, the guitars are heavy, and the fun level is on max, making American Wedding an ideal summer soundtrack.
All Music Guide - Heather Phares
So jam-packed with of-the-moment hits that it could be the rock equivalent of Now That's What I Call Music!, the soundtrack to American Wedding, the third installment in the American Pie movies, features some of 2003's biggest rock songs, including the Foo Fighters' "Times Like These," the ear candy of the All-American Rejects' "Swing Swing," Good Charlotte's self-explanatory "Anthem," and Sum 41's "The Hell Song." Tracks by A New Found Glory and American Hi-Fi reinforce the feeling that this soundtrack was put together while watching an episode of MTV2's Rock Countdown, which shouldn't really come as a surprise, considering that the American Pie movies began during the heyday of late-'90s punk-pop, although the goofy immaturity in songs like Hot Action Cop's Chili Peppers-esque "Fever for the Flava," Sugarcult's "Bouncing Off the Wall," and Gob's "Give Up the Grudge" is a little disturbing considering that the film revolves around the American Pie gang supposedly being ready to tie the knot. Matt Nathanson's cover of James' "Laid," Joseph Arthur's "Honey & the Moon," and the Wallflowers' version of "Into the Mystic" help balance out some of the more hyperactive, testosterone-driven cuts, but then again, that may be the point of the movie -- just because you're getting married doesn't necessarily mean that you have to take on all the trappings of an adult. At any rate, American Wedding is a slightly off-kilter collection, but it should undoubtedly please fans of the movie.

    even better than the last!

I've been a big fan of each of the previous american pie soundtracks, but this one is even better! special features like a van morrison cover and a never released new found glory song make it better than ever. i'm so excited to play it over and over again! fun punk sounds that fit the movie's image quite well.

Great collection of bands make a great Soudtrack!

Normally I don't like soudntracks very much. This was a big departure though, because this soundtrack brings together some of the best bands out there right now. Instead of just offering up lame songs from good bands, American Wedding brings some great tunes from the Foo Fighters, New Found Glory, and Sum 41. Some of these bands better songs like Foo Fighters's "Time's Like These" and Sum 41's "Hellsong" are all featured. This soundtrack is definetly one that you can party to and enjoy with friends. I also really liked some of the lesser known bands that were thrown in to introduce some great bands to a lot of people out there. The Working Title was one of my favorite bands that i'd never heard of before. This is a very fun, energetic soundtrack that is sure to please fans of compilations like this!!
