KLIATT
This is a useful book for every library or college counseling office to have around. "Value" here is defined rather loosely: it includes not just hidden low-tuition gems but also some of the most expensive big-name schools that have generous financial aid. The profiles of 81 schools here are quite informative and sensible. The write-ups include useful statistical information along the sides, while the main sections offer short but focused sketches of the school, keys to getting in, some of the directions graduates tend to go after their undergrad education, and a "bang for your buck" section explaining why the institution was included on this value list. This is just one more way for high school students to look at colleges, but it will help them filter out and select for good reasons.
