The local legal system is very reluctant to get involved in Amish child abuse cases. The long tern effect of abuse on a child is astronomical.

By far the worst written book i have ever had the displeasure of reading! hard to understand at times as the subject changes and is very confusing. The worst part is that it seems as though the aurthor holds a grudge against the Amish people almost to the point of hatred. Many so called facts in the book are outright lies, judgeing from my 17 years Amish experience.

mr. yoder tells his story of not being able to make up his mind to be amish or not. it is hard to read, he jumps from one thing to another. it is interesting to know about the traditions and rules of the amish.

The book is a good read and factual, I live in the area the book is written about and am familiar with with Amish culture.
