Overview

Charlotte Miller has been boarded up in her house for sixteen years because of a mysterious illness, and when she is finally healed, her mother and sister are killed.
Fearing that she can't make it on her own, she tosses the one thing that can stop the disease from relapsing: her umbrella. As she travels in hope that the sun will kill her, she crosses paths with an Amish candy man who somehow intrigues her with his blunt businesslike manner.
Her uncle has a book of rules for courting; can she reel this traveling candy man in? Would it be worth it to live if he'd fall in love with her, or should she wait for the sun to take her?
God had sent a Son many years ago, One that died on Calvary, and despite tragedy, persecution, and the struggle to forgive, this Son may be the answer, and He just pulled into rural Indiana.

    Amish hope

Too many errors to make reading enjoyable. Some continuity problems. Names of characters are mixed up. I have other books by this writer but could not finish because of errors. Needs a proofreader.

The book is 97 pages and the hero, who has been locked in her home for sixteen years because of an illness, learns to garden, preserve the harvest, and have faith through hard times just the Amish do, and she cooks on a wood-burning stove, uses oil lamps, and knits beautiful homemade garments. I do not understand about the previous review, as it was way off on how this book read and on how many pages the book was, for it was 97 pages.

    Dont read

It was the worst amish book that i have ever read. It was only seventy pages but it was so bad it was hard to finish. The characters did not really act amish.

I love Amish fiction but this book was unreadable for me. It reads like a composition by a 4th grader. I could not finish it.

    Hard to read.

Though the story line is a cute one, there are so many errors that make it difficult to read. There are sentence structure errors. Conuity problems, where your in one place then in another. The characters personalitys change. Then it ends in a hurry. At times it feels like part of the story is missing. I did enjoy the story line and with a little editing it would be a special book.

    amish but child like

While the book is quite amish it feels like my nine year old would write it better. It skipped and left things out causing some confusion. Gotta get me some Beverly Lewis now.

Beautiful cover and I like the Amish faith. I have plain family, and this book includes aspects of their live, like lanterns, gardening with out machines, and their food.

    BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD

BAD BAD BAD! So poorly written that I think a child wrote it. Repeats itself over and over that she was ill and kept inside for sixteen years because her uncle put a hair growth solution on her when she was an infant. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Not well written and contrary to tenants of the Amish faith. More research, more character building and editing would help
