I have beeen a fan of Placido Domingo as well as Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli forever it seems and to see that someone( Placido Domingo) put the words from the poems written by our beloved, late Holy Father Pope John Paul II is majical. I have some of the the books writen by our late Pope and they are so inspirational. The music on this Cd is uplifting, spiritual and a source of great comfort. The late Holy fathers words set to music bring about a sense of peace, a reaffirmation of the spirit. Much like one gets from listening the The Priest Cd as well. Hearing the soaring, beautiful voice of Josh Groban and the hauting angelic voice of Meistro Andrea Bocelli with Placido Domingo along with Katherine Hardwick and Vanessa Willaims I feel as though this surely must be what angels sound like, except we are hearing herew on Earth
In the currant climate of music where violence and degradation are glorified in music and every expletive is repeated through out many songs with the same underlying rhythm lacking orginality or substance it is truly wonderful to see a return to what music really is, beauty, truth, guidence and a celeabration of life. It really does have the power to change the world in a positve way and this Cd is one such as this. I hope others will hear and feel what I have with in the words of his Holiness and the music it is set to, sung by the angels. What a rare treat to the ears, the soul and the spirit.

The poetry, music, orchestra, voices - each is exquisite. Together they are superb! I am a Domingo fan and recognized his voice when this recording was playing at my favorite B&N store music section.
This beautiful music grips my soul like nothing I've heard before. It is spectacularly lush and romantic. The poetry is touching and loving - a remarkable remembrance of a good man, John Paul II.
The five artists who join Domingo bring a variety of vocal styles that add richly to the universal appeal of this recording.
I have given this CD (as well as the special edition which includes a book of John Paul's poetry) to friends and they, too, have loved it.
Thank you to Placido Domingo for this marvelous project. It's a true gift of God's great blessings through music.

Starting with a battery of powerful duets (four of the first six tracks are as such), the album gradually moves into a calmer, more contemplative mood as the tracks progress. Far from making the work inaccessible to those limited to English, the predominance of Romance languages stands as a testament to the ecumenical attitude of His Holiness John Paul II, not to mention his prodigious skill with language. The strongest tracks, in this listener's opinion, are "Risuona Anima Mia", "Canto del Sole Inesauribile", and "Gratitude". Highly recommended for listeners - of both religious and more secular natures - that are attracted to an operatic voice and a genuinely outstanding performance.

I love the music on this CD; it's breathtaking and the soloists are exceptional! I just wish there was a translation page included in the CD so that I would know what the words in English are. Some of the songs are in English, but most aren't, and so though the music is stirring and beautifully done, there is no way to know what is being said! Too bad...

I gave out 10 of these CDs for mother's day. The Book version has lovely pictures of John Paul II. I would have liked a longer book with more information about the Pope and/or a longer CD.

I love Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli and the Pope was very special to my family. The combination of the Pope's words and thoughts put to music and sang by some of my favorite people is very touching and inspiring. A beautiful CD.
