Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"Matt Forbeck does near-future so well, I think he's been there. Actually, I think he designed it. Then he kicked its ass." - Dan Abnett, author of Triumff: Her Majesty's Hero

"Amortals seized me by the throat and kicked my ass." - Billy Campbell, star of The 4400

"Amortals is a fast and engrossing read, highly original, and with more than its fair share of surprises. If you like thrillers with a science-fiction edge, check out Matt Forbeck’s Amortals, and strap yourself in; it’s a wicked ride." - Bill Bodden, www.flamesrising.com

"...an SF action-thriller that satisfies on all levels." - Michael M. Jones, www.sfsite.com

"Amortals reads like a noir-ish mystery with a heavy science fictional vision. Forbeck uses a generous handful of sf-nal ideas to good effect." - John DeNardo, www.sfsignal.com

"This story sinks its claws into you early, and you won’t want to stop reading." - www.lestersmith.com

Great 2nd entry in the Matt Richter saga

It should go without saying that you should read the first entry in this series, 'Nekropolis', before reading this book. this is a wonderful continuation of the story of Matt Richter, Zombie Detective. The classic whodunnit mystery is mixed with just enough fantasy, suspense, and witty humor to make it a fresh and fun read for anyone with an avid imagination. it still stands onnits own as a fantasy novel, but has the common sense not to take itself to seriously. Get both books and enjoy a refreshing break from campy vampire romances.

    Reasonable Sci Fi Thriller

Don't get me wrong, I generally like Matt Forbeck's work, but this was too formulaic a thriller for me to really enjoy. It was too obvious where the story was going and who was the villain. I like a bit more suspense than that.

    Surpringly Wonderful!

I opened Amortals not sure if I'd like, but after reading Vegas Knights I had faith in Forbeck to reward my foray outside my comfort zone. I wasn't dissapointed! A great twist on the fish out of water, and you can't help but empathize with the hero. Forbeck excels at going places you never expect and ensures you enjoy the ride!
