Amplified Bible Second Best To Reading In Greek And Hebrew!

After praying to God for many years for an understanding on the bible, he led me to the Amplified Bible. In Greek and Hebrew a word has many sides so it needs more than one English word to truly be understood. For example, the Greek word Piseuo is translated believe but it really is deeper than that! A Greek reader would know Piseuo means to adhere to, cleave to; to trust, to have faith in; to rely on, to depend on. That is so much more than the one word believe! This bible gives you the advantage of understanding it in all the richness and depth of the two original languages.

    A Bible I can understand

I often lost interest reading the Bible. The reason being I was easily lost and left wondering. This version is the best so far. I'm returning to buy a large print version for my 83yo father.

    Not accurate

The language does have the full meaning that was meant in the Hebrew and Greek. However, there isn't any concordance at all in this thing, to find the so-called 25,000 verses. And there isn't much in the way of footnotes either. But, if you want to read what was originally intended in the original languages, this is a good translation.

    Made a great Christmas gift

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. He had read the KJV for years but wanted to see if he could glean more from this version. He has enjoyed the read even though he still likes KJV. Many times I find him comparing the two. As for the book itself, it is sturdy with print large enough for older eyes. Should last for many years to come.
