    I Also Recommend:

This is a good interpretion of the Bible.

This is a nice Bible to compare with other Bible translations. By reading NASB and ESV along with Amplified you will have a clearer understanding of the text and the intent of the writer. I would also recommend "How to choose a translation for all its worth". There is so much that most people do not understand about the Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic text of the original manuscripts and how it is translated into the receptor language (English). The how to book above is a good starting point for study. You will enjoy the Amplified Bible even more when you understand how they put it together in our English.

Navigation is improved with bookmarks... I enjoy the Amplified Version... Great to read a chapter at a time.

Would be nice to search by chapter and verse; or even better with book chapter and verse, i.e - John 3:16...

The Go To / Page / requires you to scroll from page 1 to 2203 on the small touch screen. It is difficult to scroll within 20 pages of desired page. In addition the title during scrolling remains "Revelation" instead of updating to the correct Book/Chapter name. The page scroll should adjust to a smaller range i.e. 5 books, 1 book...

It may not be usable to follow along in service, unless there is a faster method to find the next verse.
    Updated one day later...
Faster method is to add bookmarks throughout the Bible and use the bookmarks as a fast index... takes from 20 to 45 seconds to find a verse.

    Disappointed - False Advertising

I was very pleased with the Bible itself, but the overview said that it had a concordance with 25,000 or more entries in it. That was very important to me, and when I downloaded it, the concordance was not there! It does NOT contain a concordance.

    ForeverForgiven

The Amplified Bible is one of my most favorite versions to study and actually 'meditate' on. I appreciate the way it helps to develop revelation and expand my understanding of so much of the scriptures. Navigation isn't difficult, but I'm not one who discourages the desire in others to strive for improvement wherever possible.

    Very Difficult Navigation

I thought that at this price, navigation would work flawlessly. Unfortunately that was not the case. I suggest one of the lower priced Bible available compared to this as this was too expensive.

Good on PC; bad on a PDA

The Amplified Bible is great for comparision. However, the eBook version is great on a PC, but extremely difficult to search on a PDA device such as a BlackBerry

    No concordance - no surprise

I see a review mentioning lack of the advertised concordance. This is an error on the publisher's part, not on Nook/B&N's part. Even hard copy amplified bibles usually lack the concordance which is usually advertised on the outside of it. The Amplified version is very helpful for bible study even without the concordance. At my various bible study groups my friends very frequently ask me to read verses from amplified when they really want clarification of the scripture's full meaning.

    Cannot open at first

I have not been able to open this at all. I finally got it open with the help of my youngest son and it works great. I am very happy with the nook and the Amp. Bible. I would recommed this book to everyone.

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN BARNES AND NOBLE

I purchased this Bible along with a Beth Moore book onto a tablet I purchased just to read books. I was so excited when the tablet came beacuse I was looking forward to the new experience of reading books off a tablet. Unfortunately after I purchased both books, 22$ total. When I tried to access the books, B&N asked for the credit card number used to purchase the books. I typed them in 100+ times over a series of DAYS and it never would let me access the books. I am so disappointed in B&N! I will NEVER EVER EVER spend my hard earned money on this website or in a B&N store again. I'm out the money for the tablet and the books. Oh and I can access the Bible from the website for about a minute before the website tells me I HAVE TO BUY THE BOOK. The only reason I am on this website now is because THEY e-mailed me asking for a review. FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL B&N. NEVER AGAIN! I feel duped and betrayed! But I will be purchasing an AMPLIFIED BIBLE off AMAZON once I get the extra money again. I'm so sad I had saved to purchase the tablet to use as a reader and purchased those two books. I haven't turned on the tablet since then. It just hurts me so bad that a "reputable" company such as this turned out to be nothing but a headache and a hurt in my pocket book! VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS COMPANY! THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU USE THEM FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!

No Concordance, But a Good Book!

I have the "hard copy" (non-electronic version) of this book and it's wonderful! The only thing that I miss about the Nook version is the concordance. The concordance helps me to find subject-related verses in the Bible. Other than that, this is an excellent, easy-to-read book! The Good Book is a GREAT book! ;)

    Not that useful

I love the Amplified, but this version is just not that useful, especially since the "content slider" at the bottom always says: "Revelation" so you can't quickly tell where you are going to land in the contents. Not one you should take to Bible class.

It's little more than a rough copy that's hard to navigate...needs work!

    Can't navigate.

Not good for following along in a service. No contents page. Great translation just can't navigate to a particular verse.
