Meet the Author

Mark Stephens lives in Orlando, Florida, by route of St. Marys, Ohio(birthplace) and Asheville, NC. Moving here in 1998 after visiting, he fell in love with the climate and the city, becoming active in the community and its growth.

Writing has always been a love of his ever since high school, but, until recent advancements in technology, it was always an unrealistic passion to become a published author. Now, he's able to devote his time between writing and family and work. At least, until he doesn't have to work anymore.

    Aww.. so sad!!! But buy!!

When i got this book, i thought it would be a happy little fun book about a girl and her unicorn. It turned out to have much more depth than that! The author described the scenery very well, but that got a little long at times. The entire book, Amy described her life back home as bad and i kept wondering why it was so bad. The ending revealed it, and it was much worse than i could have imagined! I almost cried!! You should realy get this book, its a great short read. Plus its free so it cant hurt you to at least try it!!!

I was rather impressed by the narrative of this story and completely taken aback, in a good way, by the ending. Without giving away the ending, I was not expecting the ending, although Amy's home life is alluded to throughout. That may've been a bit distracting until I read the end. Then the entire narrative made sense. The author did an exceptional job at doing that.
The only thing I found disconcerting at all had nothing to do with the story or the aurthor, but the reviews. I really wish Barnes and Noble would do better at policing the inane and somewhat offensive reviews written on here. Even flagged, they seem to leave them here.

    somewhat of a killjoy

this book very really quite good and i got got very into it. but just when it seemed the story was getting very interesting, it had a depressing ending. it made it an entirely new story, and didnt leave me with a good feeling. i felt somewhat cheated. plus i felt that there was more story to tell. still, overall a very good read.

I love this book. You would have never really know what was going on with Amy in her other world, the author keep the suspense going
until the very end when you really find out. The ending is very sad but it makes you think.
